Chapter 10

Emily's POV

I come to school the next morning. Hmm the group doesn't seem to be here yet eh I'll just go on my phone. I decided to go on Instagram and I see this. A picture of a girl that looks like Michelle with someone who looks like Hunter. I click on it.

@michellebaldesarra: fbf to our first family night with friends in Toronto.

She has 946 followers!? How is that possible I'm the most popular person and I only have 700.

I click on Riley's portfolio. I haven't checked hers in a while. WTF now she is at 790! Last time she was only at 406. Which was..... about 10 months ago. Wow I've gotta step up my game!

"hey Emily." I hear a voice say. I turn around and smile.

"hi Eldon." I say smiling back at him.

"is everything okay? you seem a bit tensed up right now." He says giving me a worried glance.

"everything is perfect." I grit through my teeth.

Everyone soon comes to school. Before we head in I see Riley she shows up in a gentle light brown top with matching cardigan with some ripped jeans and a dark red purse.

"Riley you really are changing up your look aren't you." I say as I walk up to her.

"um yeah I am and your point is." she asks.

"oh no reason it's just your starting to wear some really really really nice clothing and I noticed that your closet no longer has any of your previous clothes."

"okay Emily are you feeling okay?"

"I'm fine never better."

Riley turns to Eldon and looks at him.

"what is up with her?" Riley asks Eldon.

Eldon just shrugs.

"I don't know she said that to me too." Eldon replies feeling my forehead.

"if you don't feel well then go home." Riley looks at me and then go off.

How rude of her. On my gosh she needs manners! Does she not realize that she is starting to steal my popularity!

"Emily, she's isn't trying to do that." Eldon rests a hand on my shoulder.

"I said that ouloud didn't I." I say closing my eyes.

"yep you did"

"okay I may be a bit jealous of her but I can't see why." I say.

"why are you jealous of Riley you have nothing to be jealous about."

"well she has friends and-"

"is that all your jealous about?" Eldon asks.

"well um.. yes."

Eldon looks at me and frowns. "that doesn't matter. You know so many people love you."

"can we not have this talk." I ask looking at him.

He nods slightly and sighs. We hold hands and we go into the school.

Riley's POV

I am standing in the hallway talking to Michelle when I hear the tapping of a high heal hit the ground.

Michelle and I turn around and it's Beth. Oh great!

Beth walks up to me glaring at me inching her way to me slowly. I back up just a tad but stand in front of her crossing my arms.

"so he ditched me for you. Your so ugly. I mean I think everyone liked the way you were before. Shy, alone, nerd-

Michelle cuts her off instantly.

"back off Beth your just mad that James left you!" Michelle glared.

"oh I'm not upset it's just I'm wondering why he would pick her."

"yeah I mean she must have changed her look because she was so desperate." A voice behind Beth said.

I look around Beth and Chloe stands there smirking. I can't believe her! I know she's a trader but does she rally have to say everything bad about me! She's gonna spill all my secrets now!

"Riley shouldn't be going on dates with anyone. All she does is date them and then dumps them." Chloe says starting to get everyone's attention.

I start getting tears in my eyes. Chloe then starts talking bullshit about me that's not even true! I instantly rush out and down the hallways I hear people calling my name but i keep my head down and keep walking. I bump into someone I quickly see who it is to see if it was Miss. Kate or Phoebe but it's just James. I keep walking.

James' POV

As I'm going down to see RIlye she bumps into me. I'm about to say hi but then she shoves her head back down and keeps walking fast.

"Riley!" I call out. She doesn't look back. I walk down the hallway and I see Michelle, Hunter and West in an argument with Beth, Chloe and the others. Eldon is sitting there not knowing what to do.

I go up to them. "what the hell did you guys do to Riley?" I ask. Oh shit i blew my cover maybe.

"you like her!?" Beth screams.

"that's not your responsiblity to see who I love and who I don't love. Now what did you guys do!" I demanded.

"they were talking shitty stuff about Riley." Hunter says quietly.

"I don't get why, maybe because their 'jealous'" Michelle hisses.

We all leave to go find RIley after 5 minutes later.
