CHAPTER 21

Steve's P.O.V

After a long rough drive we finally get to lose them. We both sigh in relieve and rest our head. We laugh as soon our eyes meet.

"Fuck that was amazing trust me.. how did you learn how to do that?" I ask him.

"I once went to a driving school.. that was where I meet Kahina. She's also good at this but I'm the best" knight says proudly.

"She'll probably smack your head if she hears you say that" I tease and we both laugh again. "Seriously your driving is amazing. Those nitwits fell for each of your tricks"

"Yea.. Did you see the sharp U-turn I took. I never thought I could do that. I'm proud of myself" knight grin.

"You should teach me someday" I say to him.

He turn his full attention to me. "Well it's going to cost you a fortune".

"Oh c'mon man. Micheal trained me without collecting a dime from me" I raise my brow.

"I'm not Micheal" he says but our laughter dies down afterward.

"Are you sure they are going to be okay?" I ask wondering if Ariel is alright.

"Yea.. I trust Micheal" Knight mutter but I could see his eyes filled with worries. He's worried for Kahina.

"Me too" I mutter.

"I hope Micheal contact us soon and tell us what's going on.. how's your arm?" Knight ask.

"It's good" I reply.

"We can't drive this car around. Let's find a place to stay and wait for his call"

He open the door and come down from the car. I also do the same and watch him pull out a stick of cigarette and begin to smoke.

"Let's go to one of my friend's place, we can stay there for the night. It's not far from here" I suggest.

We get to Chris apartment and I move to ring the doorbell. The door open after a while and Chris mom show up.

"Steven, how have you been?" Her eyes shows she was asleep. It's pass midnight already.

"I'm fine ma'am sorry for disturbing your sleep.."

"Oh don't worry dear. You're welcome anytime. Come on in" she pulls me in while Knight follows.

"How family and school?" She ask.

"They are good"

"I'm glad to hear that"

"Is Chris home?" I ask.

"Yes he's upstairs with my daughter in law" she smile brightly.

"Wait what?" My eyes widen.

"And you are?" She turn to knight.

"I'm Knight" he reply with a light smile.

"He's a friend" I add.

"Oh.. sit I'll make you something to drink.."

"Don't bother. I'm fine, you must rest" I stop her.

"You're such a darling dear. I'll make sure I make your favorite once the sun rise" she gives me a light pinch on my cheek.

"You guys must be so close" knight comment on our way upstairs.

"Yea" I nod.

Chris gasp as soon as we enter his room. Helen is also with him. They are busy watching a movie.

"Hey" I greet them awkwardly. It's been long I've seen them.

"Bro!" His face brightens. He move closer and give me a hug. Helen sight moves behind me. I'm sure she is expecting Ariel.
