Chapter Nineteen

*RECAP*
I follow her in until im stopped at the door and told that a nurse will be out to give me updates. I nod my head and turn and sit down in one of the chairs impatiently with my arms resting on my legs while holding my head. I'm not much of a man for religion but God please let her make it through this.

After about ten minutes of sitting here waiting I see Luciana's brother Javier, his wife, their kids, and Luciana's best friends all come rushing in at the same time Looking around frantically for me.
"Javier over here"
"How is she? What exactly happened?" Javier asks.
"All I know so far about her is she is still breathing. From what I seen is that someone T-boned her parked car and left after words."
"How bad are her injuries?" Sophia I think her name is asked frantically.
"I don't know all or the full extent of her injuries cause they took her back only 10 minutes ago. Although from what I could see when I got there was cut on her forehead, broken arm, Possible broken leg, some cuts, some brusies, and a possible concussion she was unconcious when I got there and when they transported her here."
"Oh my god." Javier's wife sobs out.
"I'll go ask for a private waiting room for us since there is all of us and your kiddos." I look to everyone to see they all nodded their head is agreement. I walked towards the nurse station quietly.
"Excuse me"
"Yes sir how can I help you?"
"I was wondering if I and the family of Luciana Perez can get a private waiting room that can accomidate all of us."
"Yes sir we can get that figured out for you. There will be a nurse out shortly to escort you guys to the waiting room."
"Thanks."

I walk back towards Luci's family and inform them of the short wait. Once I sit down I look at the time and see its a little after seven so I decided to call my brother and check up on him and Matteo.

Matteo and I were in the theater room watching that spiderman multiverse movie when my cell phone started to ring. I look to Matteo and see the look of annoyance on his face for my phones intruption. I chuckle and shake my head.
"I will be right back I am going to answer my phone."
"Okay Silvi" he says as he returns to watch his movie. I quietly walk down the steps into the hall. I look at my caller ID and see that it's D so I answer instantly.
Phone Convo

S: Hey D how is she?
E: We are still waiting on an update she went back about 30 minutes ago. everyone is here so we are waiting to be moved to a private waiting room.
S: Fuck man Matteo keeps asking for her and I don't know what to tell him.
E: I know it's gotta be rough having to stay there with Teo and trying to keep this from him. When all you want to do is rush here but Luci will appreciate you holding things down there and keeping Matteo calm.
S: I'm just really worried man. Do you have any idea of who it was?
do you think this is random hit and run or it was intentional?
E: No idea yet I have Alejandro looking into it. But I believe this was intentional due to the fact her car wouldn't start and she was parked.
S: Fuck man. This isn't good at all.
E: No one should know anout her or Matteo I have been very careful.
S: I think after this we need to put protection on her and Matteo at all times just incase this is something Mafia related.
E: I agree with you there. If this is related to the family business I'll have to tell her the truth about us and pray she doesn't leave me but I'll understand if she did.
S: I pray she won't decide that Matteo is better off and safer without me. What if she finds out the truth and decideds to leave for good I don't like this idea of coming clean but I know we have too.
E: I do not like it either but it has to be done S. We can't lie to her longer. If we do not tell her and something else happens due to our business she will find out from one of them and then she'll never forgive us. Which will be a garuntee she will leave me and you will never see your son agian.
S: You're right man. Okay well I better get back to Matteo call me when you know something.
E: Will do S talk soon. Bye.
End Of Convo

I put my cell back into my pocket and make my way back up to Matteo. When I get to the theater room I find Matteo asleep. So I gently pick him up making sure I don't wake him and slowly make my way down to his room. When I reac his room I carefully place him in his bed and tuck him in. Once I know he is going to remain asleep I made my way back downstairs to clean up after Matteo and I. After about 30 minutes I finished cleaning up I made my way to the bar in the family room and poor myself a glass of whiskey. I go to sit down when I noticed Luciana's photo albums. I grabbed one and started looking at all the photos of her growing up. within a couple hours I had looked through the albums. The last 4 were of the last 5 years with pictures of us and all through out Matteo's life. Going through the picture I watched my son grow. Those pictures brought up good memories and bad ones knowing I missed out on her and my son all these years. Now I have to watch her and my brother be together and love one another. I am not going to lie and say that it doesn't sting watching her be happy with someone else but shit happens. I polish off my whiskey Placing the album back and then made my way to one of the guest bedrooms. Once I'm laid down I Video call my sister and mom to tell them about everything thats happened this last week. To say my mom aswell as my sister were estatic that mom had a grandbaby and my sister a nephew. What they were even more shocked about is that she is in a great relationship with Elias. I guess they knew my brother was in a relationship and how inlove he was but just not who because Elias told them he'd introduce her when the time is right. I also told them about my arangement with Luci and I for Matteo because I had to keep them from catching a flight to come meet him right now. I don't want them to come right at this moment due to the chaoticness with her accident plus  I want them to meet Matteo after he knows I am his dad. After the call I fell in to a restless sleep.
