[ GN!Reader ] ➜ A Catkasa Nightmare // Outdated

╰┈➤ You hear a sudden thud and decide to investigate, only to find out that Rui has somehow given Tsukasa cat attributes.

[ first person narrative ]

　"Rui! I don't care how interesting this is, it could be dangerous!"
"Ah, Tsukasa, don't—"

CRASH!

The sound startled both Emu and myself. Our heads perked, we exchanged a worried glance between one another before ditching Nene. Pursuing at our heels, Nene swiftly ran to the back of the Sekai stage.

"What was that noise!?" Emu shouted, evidently ready to defend her friends with her life.
"We heard something loud.." Nene added.

"RUI—!"
Tsukasa shrieked in terror, holding the sides of his head.
"What a phenomenon!" Rui exclaimed, visibly unaffected by the situation.
"GET IT OFF!" Tsukasa hollered.

Emu gasped audibly. "Fluffy~!" She charged forth, embracing Tsukasa before patting the cat ears atop his head.
"Emu—?!" Tsukasa's ears drooped as he met gazes with me.
Nene blinked thrice. "Uh, what happened here?"
Rui heaved a sigh. "I was experimenting with something for a play, and Tsukasa happened to destroy the vile it was in too early. Now, he's stuck with cat-like attributes until I can figure out a cure."
"FIGURE IT OUT!?" Tsukasa hollered in pure shock, the ears along his cat ears bristling.

Emu laughed. "Look, he's getting mad! That's so cute!"
Nene giggled. "Heh, yeah. His furs all stood up."
Tsukasa shooed Emu, ducking into the corner out of embarrassment. "Stop this..!" He pleaded.
Laughing, I approached him. "Check it out," I crouched near him. "He's got a tail, too~!"
"NOT YOU TOO!" He angrily hollered, the cat tail lashing in the air.
He smacked my forehead with the tail, his expression deadpanning.

"Fine, be that way." I blew air on his cat ears.
He immediately twitched, jerking away from it. "Why are they so sensitive!?" He exclaimed.
"They must be as sensitive as a cats, naturally." Rui commented.
"NATURALLY!? WHAT PART OF THIS IS NATURAL?"

"There, there, Tsukasa!" Emu pat his head.
"QUIT IT!"
"I heard cats get overstimulated very easily," I said to Rui, peering up at him. "Maybe it's best we wait this out in a quiet, remote location."
"Good idea, Y/n. It's probably best to try to lay low, since society has certainly never witnessed anything like this." Said the purple haired alchemist.
"So, where can we hide him?" Nene asked.
"Probably just stay in the Sekai." I suggested.

Emu perked her head. "Or we could put on a Puss in Boots play!"
Rui chortled a gentle laugh, the blue raspberry streak in his hair swishing as he did so. "Let's not release this to the public just yet."
Nene nodded her head in agreement. "Right, that might be hard to explain."
"Might be..?" Echoed Tsukasa.

"What does it feel like, Tsukasa?" Asked Rui.
"Yeah, tell us! What's it like being part kitty?" Asked the beaming Emu.
"It's.. it's loud," said he. "They feel so weird, and everything is so big. It's hurting my head now.." he grimaced, heaving a sigh.
Rui seemed to take mental note of this. "Do you feel anything different? Aside from the obvious cat attributes."
"The world is overwhelming," Tsukasa then perked his head, eyes widening. "EVERYTHING IS SPINNING!"

Instead of curling into a ball once more, he flung into my arms. I pat his head a bit, gazing up at Rui.
"We should give him space, and try to keep the noise down. It seems like he's sensitive right now." Said I.
Rui nodded in agreement. "Of course," he then hesitated. "I'll record some of the data from this, but please, when this is over; tell me more about whatever you see."
"We're leaving?" Asked Emu.
Nene smiled at her. "Yeah, we should clean the Wonder Stage for when Tsukasa gets back."
"Ooh, great idea, Nene!" Emu happily followed the duo, where a bright flash sent them out of the Sekai.
I began petting Tsukasa's head gently.

*Woah. He's so soft—!*

"Are you awake, Tsukasa?" I asked him.
He sluggishly placed his chin to my collarbone. "To my dismay." He groaned, tail swishing behind himself.
Inspecting his ears was a serotonin-filled experience, like gazing upon a bed full of fluffy blankets and cushiony pillows.
"Are you still in sensory overload?" I questioned, though it was rather obvious what the answer would be.
"Yes," Tsukasa mumbled, apparently unconsciously leaning into my hand; which hovered near his cat ear. "Let's talk quieter, please.."
"Sure," I spoke in barely more than a mere whisper. "Are you okay?"

He sniffled, ears pinned down. "I was fine before this.."
"Is this too much for you?" I pulled him into an embrace.
He rubbed his head under my chin, tail twitching near the tip. Before he could respond, I gently cupped the base of the cat ear. Both cat ears instantly perked.
"Hey, what're you doing—?!" He asked, seemingly irritated now.
"Wait. Relax," I gently massaged near the base. The fluffy ears slowly pinned down, the performer melting into my arms. "Found it."
Tsukasa leaned into my chest, eyes shut as he nuzzled my shirt. "Alright, I've had enough! This is embarrassing!"
"It's cute," I argued, patting his head. "It also distracted you from being overstimulated."
He perked his head. "That's true," he then flushed red, huffing a bit. "Fine. You may pet me."
Celebrating with a soft; "yesssss~", I pat Tsukasa's head.

"Rui wanted to know what's happening, so if you can, keep me up to speed." I requested, resuming the ear rubs.
"I really want to be closer to you now." He responded, seemingly hesitant.
"You can get as close as you need." I outstretched my arms, inviting him to press close to me.
