Constellations rule over separate areas of heavenly powers. These special stars have bloodlines that produce deity incarnates to help mortals below. As a shrine keeper, you've grown acquainted with all of the current deity. The Kusanagi is amongst one of the weakest, but has arguably the strongest blessings within all five constellations. She rules over good fortune and free will. According to her worshippers, seeing a white snake is a sign from Nene herself that you are being protected. This saying is true, much to your surprise. Her worshippers are happy to offer her their rarities, even though Nene hardly shows herself to them.
Meanwhile, the Kamishiro constellation is rumored to be the king of all deity. This is far from true, and you know for a fact that Rui dislikes these rumors. Rui has a close relationship with his worshippers, he claims that he loves hearing their stories. They often worship him with trinkets for him to tamper with— seeing how there is nothing that he loves more.
The Otori constellation is the absolute strongest constellation of them all. They have powerful blessings of prosperity and immense power that could easily subdue deity five times their physical strength. Emu adores her worshippers, but refuses to call them worshippers. She prefers friends, and they treat her in the same light.
As for the Tenma, this constellation was never supposed to have two deity. A constellation is a bloodline where only one may exist at a time— similar to a phoenix. However, thanks to the immense love of worshippers, the Tenma constellation has birthed two deity. One is weaker than the other thanks to their predecessor placing all of her power into Tsukasa. Tsukasa is the frame of the Tenma constellation. While Saki manages the blessings, he listens carefully to everyone that passes him by and protects them with all of his might. In the recent years, the Tenma constellation has neared the power of the Otori's.
Your job is simple. You simply walk into the temple of the constellations and care for their individual shrines inside, then you clean up their offerings and wake them up to tend to them. Earning their trust was the difficult part. Once you did, you were happy that you had put so much effort forth.
Knock, knock, knock.
Your knuckles gently tapped against the Otori shrine thrice. Each deity has a special code of knocking which summons them, and Emu's so happens to be a simple three knocks then stop. As expected, her manifestation plummeted from the wooden beams lining the temple ceiling. The candles lining her shrine died out as she landed hard on her feet. She excitedly raced up to you, embracing you tightly. You returned her embrace, enjoying the warmth of a deity's power that flooded over you. The morning was quite frigid, so feeling warmth left you feeling more at ease.
