I opened my eyes with a headache to realize that I didn't know where I was. It seemed so familiar and somehow foreign at the same time. It was clearly a burnt down forest, but one I had never been to before. The air was heavy, charged with a certain intensity that I felt deep in my stomach. The place frightened and fascinated me at the same time, it was shrouded in darkness and ash and yet this feeling did not leave me. This strange feeling of familiarity. The feeling of being home.
I startled as I looked down at my body. My skin was completely red, kind of burnt, my claws much longer and my fangs also felt much bigger in my mouth.
I held my head with my hand, trying to remember what happened. Within seconds dark black creatures gathered around me, a few of them even tried to touch me before I hissed and made them flinch back. I heard them whispering something to each other, it was a language i didn't know and never heard before and yet I understood every single word.
»She looks exactly like him, so beautiful...«
»I look like who, ugly bitch?« I shouted but they kept ignoring me. They just continued to whisper, talking about me while I was right in front of them. Very thin ice on which they moved on, at some point I lose my nerves. What the fuck are they even talking about? I was beginning to believe that I was trapped in my own hell, not even Lo'ak is this annoying.
»Child of night...«
»His daughter, the princess of darkness...«
»The time has come...«»Step back!« a dark rough voice was heard shouting out of nowhere and the creatures immediately stepped back, making way for him.
When I saw him, I finally understood who they meant. He was so scary and so beautiful at the same time. I just can't describe it. I don't have enough words for that. The God of the Hell had eyes like the universe vibrant, alive, vast. I was lost in them and all they promised. He embodied light and darkness in one. He was red with scars on his body but when I looked at him it felt like I was looking directly into the eyes of an angel.
»Back to work. Now!« he commanded, and they did so without hesitation. The black creatures were gone just as quickly as they came.
And then he looked down at me, facing me with a devilish smile on his lips. »Welcome home, darling«
»Samael?« His name on my her tongue seemed to have an effect on him, but I couldn't tell if it was good or bad. His eyes darkened and his smile disappeared. I had so many questions running through my head. Why am I even here? When my memories suddenly came back to me. I was stabbed with my own dagger. When I also remembered something else. I stood up, ending to approach him »Where's my brother? Is he okay? Is he safe?«
»You really don't have any other questions?«
»No.« This word tasted bitter on my tongue, because this was really a lie. A truer statement would be he was one of the most powerful creatures ever and I couldn't help but be curious about him and his world. It wasn't just his looks, it was his presence. His power. The Angel represented everything I never wanted to be, something dark and tempting. He was able to give me answers to my all questions and that was what I really craved.
I looked down at the place where I was stabbed and saw nothing. No wound, no blood, just nothing. When he reached out to touch me, my hand clamped down on his arm. The thing was that I didn't feared him as much as I feared my reaction to his touch. Our eyes met. »Are you hurt?« he asked. »No I'm okay« I said and he nodded, carefully pulling his arm free of my grasp.
»Allow me to offer you a tour!« he said excitedly and went ahead. Did I even have another choice? I don't think so.
I went after him and of course, it was a terrible idea. A man from the sky people grabbed me from behind, looking at me with a help-seeking expresion on his face. I rolled my eyes and pushed him away from me in disgust. If he were not human, I might have helped him...or not at all. Nevermind.
