A whole month passed and Keya didn't even come for once out of her room.
Her heart was as broken as her soul. She lost not only her title as toruk makto but also her soulmate. Her toruk has always been her safeplace. Someone who always listened to her without judging or being annoyed. Keya really missed her from the bottom of her soul and has never regretted anything in her life as much as she regretted going into that forest that night.
Neteyam and Keya often argued with each other, it's something completely normal because that's what siblings do. But it had never been this bad before.
She had tried to talk to Lo'ak about her feelings several times in the beginning, hoping that he would listen to her as her other brother had always done.
1 month ago:
»Lo'ak!« she shouted his name. »Huh?« Lo'ak looked at Keya in confusion until he realized that she had been talking to him the whole time. »Oh my bad, I was not listening to you. What you said?« he asked but Keya looked at him disappointed »Oh my fucking god! You don't ever listen to anything I have to say!« she started to cry. »No no don't cry, just say it again. Say it one more time like you don't have to-« he tried to reassure her. »Shut the fuck up skxawng!« she screamed angrily before she ran away crying to her room.the present:
She heard a knock on her door but ignored it, knowing exactly that Neteyam was in front of it. He always did it. every damn morning he stood in front of her door with breakfast in his hands. and not unlike yesterday he just walked into the room without waiting for her to answer. He saw her sitting on her bed, her face burried in her hands with her knees pressed against her chest. after closing the door behind him, he sat down next to her, holding out the bowl full of her favorite fruits to her. Without even looking at him she took a piece and bit into it before she felt sick of it and she spit it out. this was also not unusual. she hasn't been able to eat since it happened. or even to talk to someone. she became thinner, you could see her bones through her body. her face much more demotivated and the shine she always had in her beautiful red eyes disappeared.
Neteyam felt guilty, he didn't want to hurt his sister. he was the one who wanted to protect her from other boys and now seeing her in such a state because of him broke his heart. he had tried several times to explain to her what had happened but she didn't want to hear it, so he gave up because he didn't want to overwhelm her even more.
He put his hand around her face, forcing her to look at him and eywa he hadn't touched her in weeks. She was starting to go insane from the lack of pleasure. Some nights she cried in her room just aching from lust for his touch. Keya was so lost in her thoughts that she did not even notice that he kissed her and when she realized it she pushed him quickly away from her, looking at him with wide eyes.
»Why did it surprise you that I kiss you?« he asked her confused.
»That's not a surprise...« she answered him. »I'm surprised you thought I will kiss you back.«
Neteyam's ears dropped down with a sad look on his face. he wanted to say something but she interrupted him. »Go away.«
»I love you« was all he could tell her and it was the truth. he really loved her more than anything else in his life.
»Go tell that your girlfriend« Keya said turning her gaze away from him. she couldn't look him in the eyes, it hurt her too much. Neteyam suddenly grabbed her by the arms and pushed her down on her bed, starting to kiss her neck. she didn't want to believe him so he saw the only solution was to show her. Keya began to panic and tried to push him away with her feet but he was much stronger than she was, at all in her condition and with her arms held over her head she didn't manage it so she started to scream for help.
»What the hell are you doing to her boy?!« his father yelled at him while pulling his son away from her. Jake had noticed the distance between Neteyam and his sister but he didn't think it was this bad.
»Your room. now!« his father ordered him and he did it after looking into his sister's eyes one last time. this was the moment he realized something inside her is broken and can never be fixed. Keya curled on her bed, sobbing uncontrollably, screaming and crying, her tears wetting her pillow while Jake sat next to her and tried to calm her down. he hated to see his child like this, his poor beloved daughter.
Jake and Neytiri knew everything. they noticed that their daughter does not come out of her room at all anymore, not for breakfast, lunch or dinner as she normally would.
Neteyam went into his room and dropped onto his bed. tears also flowed from his eyes, he held his chest, his heart was hurting him too much.
Neytiri heard that something was wrong walked in his room. She kneeled down, looking at her son while she put her hand on his face. »I broke her. I'm so sorry mom.« he said crying, looking at her. Neytiri also felt tears gathering in her eyes, she didn't know how to comfort him so she hugged him.
»Oh ma'Neteyam...« she said. she didn't know what to say. she didn't know what to think about all this. Neytiri had been against this relationship from the beginning. she knew that sooner or later one of them would suffer but to see both in such a condition shattered her heart. she loved both of her children and would not take sides with either of them. it was their personal problem and it would be wrong of her to interfere. Neteyam cried while Neytiri held his head, while he hugged her tightly, adjusting his head on her chest. »I lost her, mom« he said crying harder, breathing heavily. Neytiri ran her hand through his braids, still trying to comfort him. »I love her so much« he whispered before falling asleep.
Meanwhile Jake managed to calm his daughter down. »I still love him, dad« were also Keya's last words before her tears dried and she fell asleep. he put her blanket on her and kissed her once again on the forehead before he left her room.
»We have to get our kids back together« Jake told his wife when he saw her sadly coming out of Neteyam's room.
Neytiri only nodded to him in agreement.
