Lina sat alone at breakfast one morning, an empty piece of parchment laid out before her. It had been nearly a month since she had arrived and according to Dumbledore there was still no progress on working out a way to send her back. She thought about writing a goodbye letter, no one she loved would be able to see it but if she was stuck in the 70s maybe this could be her way to say goodbye and get closure.
Only, she wasn't ready, all the thoughts that took up space in her head she physically couldn't write them down. It wasn't a matter of saying goodbye to the family she knew yet, it was Cedric. They had only had each other for less than a year and now they would never see each other again.
At one point Lina thought that maybe they were soulmates, now she wasn't so sure.
"Eve!" A high pitched voice squealed.
All around her other students looked towards the great hall entrance where Amelia was waving frantically at Lina. She, with less enthusiasm waved back. Despite not ever thinking it would happen Lina had grown fond of Amelia for all the opposite reasons she loved Lucy.
"What are you doing Saturday night?" Amelia asked dramatically sitting down on the bench opposite Lina "don't answer that, I know the answer. We are going to a party at the Gryffindor common room! Potter and his mates are hosting it."
"Ok" Lina said slowly "I thought you didn't like that lot" even as she said it she resisted the urge to look over her shoulder at the Gryffindor table where she knew at least one of them would be looking at her.
"Oh I don't" Amelia said grabbing a slice of perfectly toasted toast and began to spread marmalade over it "but even I cant deny they throw good parties, I have no idea how they do it, but you haven't had the fortune of going to one yet."
"And everyone is invited."
"Well, nearly everyone. It can't get to big or the professors will find out but there's enough."
A thought suddenly occurred to Lina "I don't anything to wear."
"Don't worry about that" Amelia said waving her slice of toast around "we'll find you something. So are you in?"
"I thought you said I didn't have a choice."
"Good. You're catching on."

If Lina had to pick which era of teachers she preferred she hated to admit she preferred the ones from the seventies, Professor Slughorn was quickly becoming one of her favourites, he didn't bully her like Snape clearly did and he was funny, it was a change to no longer dread going to potions lessons but rather to look forward to them.
She'd enjoy them a lot more if it wasn't for the fact her desk mates were her dad and godfather but hey details.
Across the classroom sat Marlene laughing at a joke Lily made, Marlene whispered something to Lily and they both looked over to the table Lina was sat before laughing quietly again. Lina treid to pay attention to Slughorn but watched from the corner of her eye as James whispered something to Sirius.
"And now, it your turn. If you need any help please don't be afraid to ask" Slughorn announced the class. Everyone took this as their cue to go and get the ingredient the potion required.
"You go" Amelia said "I'll set the cauldron up."
Lina left without saying a word, their was a cue for the potions cupboard but eventually she got in, as she went on her tiptoes to get the brain of frogs the potion required, someone bumped into her knocking Lina slightly.
