This was not how I planned to come out

Christmas as a student at Hogwarts was magical, the decorations, the snow, the trips to Hogsmeade all added up for some of Lina's favourite memories at the school. Christmas as faculty though, especially during a Hogsmeade trip meant an empty castle, no students wanting help with homework or practising spells far beyond their years and ending up in the hospital wing and no children looking for their parents.

Lina and Cedric Diggory liked to make use of this quiet time, some days they would spend it with Neville, sometimes Draco would come up to visit the village and spend some time with Lina or more recently Teddy, and sometimes very rarely, but sometimes Lina and Cedric would use this time in more romantic times.

"I'm thinking of asking McGonagall to up the amounts of Hogsmeade trips they do," Cedric said as he caged Lina against the stone wall with his arms.

Lina wound her arms around her husband next to draw him closer to her "you may need a reason as to why you want that"

"To spend more alone time with my wife?" He said a boyish grin crossing his feature, he leaned in and kissed Lina.

Lina lost herself to the kiss, melting away until she felt like a puddle on the floor, even after all that time his kisses still made her feel dizzy and completely and utterly in love. "I don't think McGonagall will go for that."

"Then you ask her, she loves you and besides we named a child after her."

Lina laughed gently "I still don't think she'll go for it."

"Then I guess I'll just have to make do with the same we have." He picked her up by her waist making an excited squeal escape her lips, she spun Lina around and when he put her down there was no space separating the two, kisses and pulling on limbs were all that concerned them. Cedric cradled Lina's face as they walked backwards towards an empty classroom.

Lina pulled away just as they opened the classroom door and thank Merlin they did.

Lina saw them first, she stopped in shock and Cedric crashed into her, he looked down at Lina confused as to what stopped her and then at the scene in front of her.

CJ, their second eldest, who only seconds ago had been making out with Henry (a Slytherin in the same year as him) jumped away from him to the teacher's desk opposite.

"Mum...dad..." CJ looked over anxiously at Henry, who seemed to be in the same amount of shock as he was currently in to his parents.

At first, the four of them didn't say a word, CJ too terrified too, Henry knowing it wasn't his place too, and Cedric and Lina were both waiting for CJ to make the first move.

"I uh...damn it, this wasn't how I planned this" he cursed to himself.

"I should probably go," Henry said, he reached out and squeezed CJ's elbow before slipping past Lina and Cedric.

"So," CJ said, "I'm gay."

Lina looked up at Cedric before looking back at her son, her baby boy, the one child who resembled Cedric the most but acted the least like him. "I know," she said.

"I'm so-wait you what?"

"I know" Lina replied gently and took a step towards her son "of course I know, I'm your mum."

"But how."

"Well, mum's tend to know everything, that and your dad told me how the pair of you couldn't keep your eyes off each other during defence against the dark arts."

"You weren't exactly being subtle," Cedric said.

"Wait so you're not mad," he asked his eyes flickering back and forth between his parents.

"What's there to be mad about," Cedric asked.

"You're our son CJ," Lina said, she took another step forwards and because her son was taller than her she went up on her tiptoes to get the added height and placed a hand on her cheek, Cedric came up behind her and placed a fatherly hand on his arm. "We love you, all of you, every part of you, nothing is ever going to change that."

CJ anxious look cracked, then a tear rolled down his cheek, then another and then he lunged forward to hold onto both his parents as tightly as he could.

Cedric wrapped his arms around both Lina and CJ and held the pair of them for several minutes until CJ was ready to talk again.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner," he said, his voice hoars.

"You have nothing to apologise for," Lina said wiping away the tears clinging to his cheek "you should have only told us when you were ready."

"I was ready...but I was also scared. Henry kept telling me that no matter what happened he'd be there for me, but he didn't think you'd react any differently to how you are now. He was right, he often is you know" CJ said placing a hand on the back of his neck.

"Yeah I get that from class," Cedric said chuckling lightly.

CJ's cheek tinged red slightly "I uh, I want you to meet him properly like maybe we could invite him to Saturday night dinner if that's alright."

"We'd love to meet him," Cedric said, "but you're siblings-"

"Already know. I didn't mean to tell them before I told you" CJ said quickly "but Teddy walked in on us making out in another classroom, Reggie said he already knew because he overheard Henry and me talking outside the common room and Lucy said she always knew" CJ shrugged limply "guess we weren't as discreet as we thought we were being."

"It's hard to keep a relationship secret when you live at the same school your parents and siblings attend," Lina said, "or have any privacy for that matter."

"Yeah, definitely got that, from just now. Speaking of, what were you two doing in here?" CJ asked pointing an accusing finger at his parents "I do not need any more siblings."

Lina's cheeks heated in embarrassment, she placed a hand on the back of her neck "so, uh, Saturday, next Saturday, is that um, good for you and Henry."

"Hmmm," he narrowed his eyes at his parents "yeah, I should probably go and find Henry, tell him all's ok" he straightened his shirt that was crinkled and left but paused in the doorway "oh and please, don't be embarrassing."

"Promise, although I can't say the same for your siblings," Lina said.

"Oh, I can already tell this is going to be a bad idea" CJ groaned leaving the classroom and his still blushing parents behind.
