"Hey guys I think this water is polluted" Aang said jumping unto the saddle where his friends were "disgusting" Cordelia said after Aang blew the polluted water on them "Well that explains why I can't catch a fish around here, because normally my fishing skills are off the hook! Get it? Like a fishing hook?" Sokka joked "Too bad your skills aren't on the hook" Toph said as the group laughed.

"It looks like we'll need to go somewhere else to get food, assuming that'll fit into Sokka's master schedule" Katara said as Sokka unraveled the scroll "Hmmm ... It's doable. But that means only two potty breaks today" Sokka said "Hey, maybe we can get food there" Aang said pointing at a village in the middle of the island "I can't believe there are people that live here, and I also can't believe how they let their waters get like this" Cordelia said angrily.

"I don't feel anything. Where is the village" Toph asked "It's in the middle of the river!" Sokka replied "Sure is! My name's Dock. Mind if I ask who you are?" A man on a boat asked "We're um ... from the Earth Kingdom colonies" Katara said "Wow ... Colonials. Hop on, I give you ride in the town" Dock said as they did as told.

"Why do you guys live on the river?" Katara asked "Because we're a fishing town. At least that's how it was before the factory moved in. Army makes their metal there. Moved in a few years ago and started gunking up our river. Now our little village is struggling to survive." Docks said "whoops, I thought it was because you all were incompetent, my bad" Cordelia said as they reached the village.

Later

"Is it just me, or does this place seem different?" Toph said as they walked into town the next day "Yeah, are the people ... happier?" Aang asked as they walked to the fish shop "Hey, Xu, what's going on with everyone today?" Sokka asked "Ah, something amazing happened last night. Food was delivered to our village by a mysterious and wonderful person ... the Painted Lady" Xu said drinking from a spoon "the painted who now?" Katara asked "The Painted Lady. She's part of our town's lore. They say she's a river spirit who watches over our town in times of need. I always thought she was just a legend. Until now" Xu said taking out a statue.

"Where do you think your going?" Cordelia asked stopping Katara in her tracks as she tried to leave the campsite "Ah, I am doing what I can to help the villagers" Katara said "...alright do as you'd like, I'm not gonna stop you just make sure not to get hurt" Cordelia said walking back to what she was doing.

"What's going on?" Toph asked "Fire Nation soldiers are heading toward the village" Aang said staring at the river "What did you do?" Sokka asked "I kind of destroyed their factory" Katara said "You what?" Sokka asked surprised "It was your idea!" Katara said defensively "I was joking! I also said to use spirit magic and made funny noises! Did you even think this through? The army is gonna blame the villagers! They're headed there right now to get revenge!" Sokka said before Cordelia came in between them.

"As the saying goes 'there's no use crying over spilled milk' let's just fix your mistake by saving the villagers" Cordelia said as Katara stood up and headed to the village "Wait! I'm coming, too." Sokka said stopping her "I thought you didn't want to help." Katara said "You need me, and I will never turn my back on you" He said "Sokka, you really do have a heart." Katara said hugging her brother.

"He really does have a heart, doesn't he?" Aang said cleaning away his tears "the world sure works in mysterious ways" Cordelia said nodding her head in agreement before Toph punched Aang away.

Next few days

"Wow, this is amazing to watch." Katara said watching the meteor shower "indeed, it's quiet beautiful" Cordelia said "Kind of makes you realize how insignificant we are" Sokka said "Eh, you've seen nothing once, you've seen it a thousand times." Toph said as Cordelia rubbed her head "Oh man, you've never not seen anything like this" Sokka said as a large meteor came down in their direction "I think we should go check that out in case someone is hurt" Cordelia said staring at the spot where the rock fell.

"The fire is gonna destroy that town!" Katara said as they reached the site "Not if we can stop it!" Aang said as he, Toph and Sokka jumped off Appa "There's a creek over here. Cordelia and I will bend the water onto the fire." Katara said heading towards the creak.

"These people have no idea how close they were to getting toasted last night" Aang said eating "Yeah, the worst thing about being in disguise is that we don't get the hero worship anymore. I miss the love" Toph said "Boo-hoo, poor heroes." Sokka said sarcastically "What's your problem? You haven't even touched your smoked sea slug" Katara said as Cordelia took another bite from Sokka plate.

"It's just, all you guys can do this awesome bending stuff like putting out forest fires, and flying around and making other stuff fly around. I can't fly around, okay? I can't do anything" he said sadly "That's not true. No one can read a map like you." Katara said "I can't read at all" Toph pointed out "mhm, and when I need help with my hair your always the first person I go to" Cordelia said "Yeah, and who keeps us laughing with sarcastic comments all the time? I mean, look at Katara's hair, right? What's up with that?" Aang said jokingly.

"What? What's wrong with my hair?" Katara asked embarrassed "Nothing. I was just trying to ..." Aang said realising his mistake "Look, I appreciate the effort, but the fact is each of you is so amazing and so special and I'm ... not. I'm just the guy in the group who's regular" he said sadly as Katara walked up to him "I'm sorry you're feeling so down, but I hope you know, none of us see you that way. I know something that's going to make you feel better." Katara said before suggesting an activity.

"There he goes" Cordelia said watching Sokka play with the tools in the shop "what's this" Toph asked stepping on something "it's a hardened cloth umbrella, it repels fire" Cordelia said picking it up "oh that's cool" Toph said "...I'll go pay for this go to Sokka or katara" Cordelia said running to the counter.
