FROM HERE ON, I DECIDED TO TELL THE STORY FROM A THIRD PERSON'S POINT OF VIEW TO BALANCE CHANCE AND ELEANOR IN THE STORY.

Chapter Twenty-Four.

"Talking About You"

Sunday came. It was Elana Kier's fifth birthday. He was reminded about it when he saw Eleanor's post on her IG account. She seemed very excited for her little sister's birthday. Chance can't blame her though. Lana is very adorable and he knew that Eleanor felt like it's her job to take care of her sister ever since her Mom died.

He woke up early before taking his usual morning run around the village on Sundays. There are a few things running in his mind right now. First is the fact that Lourd and Monique will be coming back from their Honeymoon a few weeks from now. Second is how will he tell Eleanor everything about what he feels without scaring her off.

"Fuck," He muttered to himself. He was never that anxious when it comes to admitting his feelings. When he likes someone, he goes for it. But for the first time, he was very careful of his actions. He didn't want to lose Eleanor in the process so he's taking his time.

Besides, he didn't know how Eleanor reacts when a certain guy would tell her he likes her-now that that certain guy was him. But he made a note in his mind that she's always friendly and spontaneous. She didn't seem to be the type who would like a heart-to-heart talk with some emotional guy like him.

Chance had to admit, he was getting more nervous and anxious as the day passes by.

Timing is everything. Hindi dapat siya magpahuli o kaya naman ay magpadalos-dalos.

When he was done drowning himself in his own thoughts, he ran back to the house before taking a shower. Eleanor texted him that the party is about to start soon. Well, he's not really excited for that party because obviously, it's a kid's party. Hindi naman siya sasali sa laro ng mga bata doon.

"Chance, where are you going?" His mother caught his attention just as he was about to step out of the house, habang dala-dala ang biniling regalo para kay Lana.

He turned to his mother who was there in their living room, watching her favorite TV series early in the morning. Hindi na muna siya lumabas ng bahay para tuluyang makaalis dahil nilapitan niya ito. He went to her and planted a kiss on her cheek.

"I was just about to go to Elana's birthday party. You know her right? Mr. Gonzales' youngest daughter." Napamulsa siya bago ngumiti.

His mother nodded before smiling, "Oh, right. Your Dad and I were invited as well, but we decided to go there later. We have some appointments to attend eh. How about you? Will you go there alone? Do you have a date?" Napangiwi si Chance sa tanong nito sa kanya. His Mom can be pretty discreet about it but he knows that just like his Dad, gusto na din nito na magkaroon siya ng girlfriend or better yet, magkaroon ng asawa.
