Chapter Three.
"Fun Night"
-Two days later-
I texted Eleanor to ask her the time of her last class so I can pick her up right after. It was almost 5 in the afternoon and I was leaning on the hood of my car, in front of the Malcolm Hall of UP College of Law as I waited for Eleanor. She told me that her last class for the afternoon will finish by 5. I stood straighter when I saw her walking out of the building with the rest of the Law students. I can't believe I am doing this―waiting for a girl so I can pick her up after class. It's not like I'm dating Eleanor but it creeps me out that I am picking her up today.
Her hair was tied in a ponytail. She's waering a green V-neck shirt and her skinny jeans. My lips curved into a faint smile of amusement when I noticed that she has a backpack. She looked like a freshie from afar.
And before I knew it, I was grinning as I watched her walk. What did she do? She hasn't even glanced at me yet I am already grinning like a madman. But I shrugged that thought off when I remembered that I haven't texted her that I am already here. I swallowed my pride and all my egotistic ways, "Eleanor!!"
Why am I doing this.
"Eleanor!!!!" I shouted even louder. Some students glanced at me before glancing around to look for whom I was calling. It was awkward because I was still wearing my three-piece suit.
Good thing, Eleanor caught my eye. I saw her shocked to me then she smiled afterwards. She started walking towards my direction. For a brief moment, I had a chance to study her face. She's pretty. The simple type of pretty. Nathalia is sophisticated―with her make-up and all her accessories while Monique is girly. Eleanor was casual and spontaneous.
Why am I comparing them again.
I shook my head in disbelief but I smiled when Eleanor was already in front of me, "Class is done?" She nodded. I didn't know what came to me but I reached for her bag and I was the one who put it inside the car.
That act was for boyfriends acting all gentleman-ly on their girls.
So I froze but I regained my composure. She won't know that I'm confused. "Akala ko naman, sa bahay mo na lang ako susundin babe. Like duh, sabihin na nating crush mo nga ako Chance pero keep it discreet naman." She laughed. Napangiwi ako sa sinabi niya.
Crush ko siya?
The hell!
I know she meant it as a joke but it wasn't funny to me. I made a face. I think this girl has a bigger ego than mine.
"You really know how to ruin my mood. Tara na nga." I opened the car door for her bago sumakay sa driver's seat. Nabigla na naman ako sa ginawa ko. Why did I do that?
I shook my head again as I drove. She told me that we'll be dropping off to her condo because she left some of her things in there and she has to change her outfit. Why does she have to change her outfit? Then I remembered the way she dressed when I talked to her in the bar. That sinful short dress. I frowned at her as we made way into her bedroom.
