[Jase's Pov]
*After a few years*
I stood outside the gates and waited. It was finally the day to leave this place. Turning towards the half-closed door, I shouted for Ashley.
"Wait, I just need to make sure I have everything." She replied while gathering all her bags onto her big luggage.
I'm waiting for Uncle Steven to come and pick us up. He's going to send us to our new house. Even though it's an old mansion, it still looks beautiful. I had asked to have it repainted and added new furniture. I just hope Ashley likes it.
I waved when I see a white car approaching. He pulled up to the side of the road and got out of the vehicle to help us with our luggage. He smiles and began to flirt. "How's it going, ladies?"
I rolled my eyes before replying, "nice to see you too, Uncle Steven."
He laughed at my response before getting into the car. With that, we drove off to our new home.
Time skip~
"We're here." Uncle Steven announced.
"Finally," I whined. I got out of the car and began stretching, it had been a long car ride and my body is aching all over.
"Jase? Where are we?" She asked. Looking at the mansion in front of me, I replied. "Our new home." She got out of the car and gawked at the sight of the mansion. I laughed before asking the question that mattered the most. "Do you like it?"
"Are you kidding?" She breathes. "I love it!" She exclaims and shook my arm excitedly.
"Come on, let's go check out the rooms." I proposed and make my way towards the mansion. Once we entered, I went upstairs. There was a door with my name on it. I open it and went inside.
The room was bigger than I expected. I walked towards one of the many bookshelves I had and feel the books with my fingers. "My babies!" I exclaimed as I took one book out of the shelf and marvelled at the sight of it. The moment was interrupted when Uncle Steven decided to barge into the room and I cleared my throat in response.
"Do you like your room?" He asked. I hid the book behind me before nodding. The action didn't fail to catch his attention and he laughs loudly. "Come on, I have something to show you." He said.
I went to get Ashley from her room before walking to the garage. As soon as I reach, he made me walk into the garage alone. I felt the wall for the switch and what I saw almost had me squealing.
"You got me a car?" I gasped.
He patted the car dramatically and exclaimed, "it's beautiful, isn't it?"
"Yea," I replied, still in awe.
"Before I forget, you need to keep this." He stated before handing me an envelope. I looked at the envelope in my hands and then at his face. "What's this?" I asked as I took the paper out. I gasped.
"What is it?" Ashley asked.
I gripped onto the paper so hard, my handprints were on it. "It's nothing," I replied. I walked out of the garage and held out the papers in front of me. Tears threatened to fall out, but I kept them in. He wrote a will. He had a will all along.
"Why?" I whispered as I stared at the sky.
[Ashley's Pov]
*Two months later*
Jase and I had started high school for two months now. If someone had told me I was going to a school named, 'Extraordinary High', I would have laughed in your face but here we are. A few days after we enrolled in, we made two new friends, Dessie and Weiss. We also found out that the school accepts supernatural students.
Everything was going fine the first week until I caught the attention of the school's most popular girls, Lydia and Stephanie, when the boys started hitting on me.
We were about to make our way towards our car when Stephanie and Lydia decided to block our paths.
"What do you want from me?" I hollered. It was getting on my nerve with them constantly trying to pick a fight. This isn't even a fair fight, to begin with. Lydia's a werewolf and Stephanie's a vampire, and they both hold a certain important position in their own kingdom.
"Get out of my way," Jase stated. "I don't have time for this."
They both gave each other a sinister look before taking a fighting stance. My heart was beating faster as the second passed by. They were about to advance when a voice stopped them.
"You wanna fight? Fight me." He challenged.
When Robin steps into the picture, Lydia and Stephanie began to groan. As much as they want to get rid of me, they wouldn't dare fight a king.
"We don't want to fight the king of ravens." They snarled and left, but not before giving me a death glare.
"Thank you." I thanked him.
"It's nothing, I'm just doing what Dessie had asked me to. Those two are nothing but trouble." He replied.
"That goes without saying." Jase agrees with Robin's comment.
Robin's Dessie's soulmate.
"Anyways, it's thanks to you that we can go home unharmed," I replied and gave him a pat on the arm.
"Come on, let's go home," I whined before bidding farewell to Robin.
Once we were in the car, Jase turns on some music and drove off.
"Will things ever be normal?" I asked no one in particular.
"Well, what defines normal for you?" Jase asked.
"I don't know," I replied honestly.
"I'm just glad that we're finally free." She says while looking lost in thoughts.
I grinned, "me too. I'm fine as long as you're here."
This is our new life.
