[Jase's Pov]
After Dessie and Ashley have settled down, everyone crowds around the large couch in the middle of the room. We all have questions about Cordelia, and Veronica is the only one who has the answer to all our questions.
"I believe there are questions you want to ask and you all deserve to know after what happened," Veronica spoke.
We all have our questions, but we didn't know where to start until Weiss broke the silence.
She sigh, "tell us everything."
Veronica nodded in understanding, "alright."
"Cordelia was talented as a Witch. The best in Magenta." She began.
"Magenta?" Ashley enquired.
"It's the name of our dimension. The Vampires ruled over the four kingdoms and picked that name. Well, that was until the new king was crowned. It is now Kingdom Ace." Weiss explained.
Upon hearing that, everyone's expression turns grim. All except us, humans.
"Alright, back to Cordelia." Veronica continued. "There was a Witch tournament back then to crown a leader. Everyone believed it was going to be Cordelia and they supported her. However, she lost and she didn't just lose the tournament, she also lost her friends. Realising that no one was really her friend, she slipped into depression."
"That's terrible!" Dessie gasped.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but I feel sorry for her," Ashley commented.
"Me too," Weiss added.
"She doesn't seem to be wallowing in sorrow, she was...aggressive." I pointed out.
"Her depression led to her madness. She wants them to fear her wreckage. She began to collect souls and attacked her own people. Even though the witches came to fear her, it wasn't enough to tame her madness. She began to seek more power and met a werewolf who told her about a Crest that the Sparkles possessed." Veronica explained.
"Is that the Quantralia?" I asked.
"How did you know about that?" Everyone gasped, except Dylan, Ashley and Dessie. They just seem surprised.
"I don't," I replied. "She just mentioned it when we were fighting. What is that exactly?"
"It used to be a crystal, the Vampires called it the Quantralia. It holds incredible energy source, the former king used it to stabilise the four kingdoms and the portal to the human world can only be open by it." Veronica answered.
"Did she have it? Did she get the crystal?" Ashley asked.
Christ shook his head, "that is not possible."
"There is no way she can use it. No one has ever been able to fully control its power." Veronica stated.
"The former king was able to, wasn't he?" I added.
"Not exactly," Veronica replied.
"The Quantralia was kept at the highest point of the castle, where it could transfer its energy to the other three crystals. Every Kingdom has its own crystals, the only difference is that the Quantralia is a black crystal while the rest are clear ones. They make use of the energy to protect their land and their people. The Quantralia cannot be controlled and its powers are unpredictable, therefore even the king wasn't able to use the power freely." Dylan explained.
I let the information sink in before Veronica continued.
"Cordelia tried to take it, but she was stopped by the king. Removing the Crest would cause unbalance to the dimension and spread chaos, hence it shouldn't be tampered with. The king was gracious enough not to kill her and was sent to my family to watch after. Unless she starts collecting souls again, she is to be kept alive. That was the agreement."
