i'll be 18 tomorrow, when you grow up being the descendants of a god, your life turns out a little differently when living in the human world. Were considered the's or thea's, inheriting powers from our god an in some cases immortality. Being one of the chosen, whatever that meant. the gods have disappeared centuries ago. Now we live like humans, amongst other supernatural beings, in the world. Leaving us with only legends and mythology to go off of. thankfully for me, my dad became a geek for mythology, meeting his friends and my mother brought him a different perspective in life considering she had super human qualities. Since my father was human, he became dedicated to learning everything about the deities and supernatural things that resonated in the same realm.

After my mom died my dad had no choice but to bring us back to our old home, where we lived with their close friends, he would be working with his old high school buddy at a school for kids with abilities. They felt it was only right for them to bring us back home. I hadn't been here for nearly 4 years, but I kept close contact with everyone, my mothers friend Raven had three children I grew up with. Tobias, Kaiser, and Sasha. We moved in with them when I was about two or three, somewhere around that time. My older brother Botan being like me he descended from Athena the goddess of war, he was my protector, so when we first arrived last time. No one was allowed within three feet of me. Though after the years went on we all came together as a group. When I started at the school I was picked on for most part, mostly for having my crimson colored hair... now it mocks me even more now than it did before, I was stuck descending from persephone. Being her complete doppelgänger, not only do I have her powers, I share her blood red hair and pear shaped figure. My skin is more porcelain compared to her peachy tone, while my eyes were different colors, once a crystal blue the other an emerald green, I liked that I was slightly different from her. Still it didn't help that monsters mistook me as her, sending my father into a frenzy to keeping me hidden or guarded.

My father always poked fun at me for looking so much like her, I didn't like to be compared to her. I like to believe I'm my own person, though my mother always told me. One day I might be the one to take her place, that wasn't in my plans though. I wasn't taking anyone's spot, if she's is as gone as the rest of the gods it was meant to be that way... besides As soon as my dad and brother get settled back home, I was going to leave. I had already put them in enough danger, my own mother's death was the cause of me. I didn't want there blood on my hands as well, I just need to make a run for it before I make things worse. The last thing I wanted was to put my family in danger...

We pull into a long driveway, in the shape of a tear drop. Two building stood off one to another. One was a Victorian mansion like home, it was beige with white trimming and wrought wired fencing surrounding the porch. A group of kids my age stood around outside tossing a football back and forth. Not seeing Sasha or the boys in sight.

"Looks like we're home." Botan says. My dad nods. "Looks like it." He says parking the car.
Adrian comes out of the big house and makes his way down to our car as we all piled out. Adrian grins at me. "I figured you would have grown more." He tells me.
I get it I'm short... 5'1 to be exact, most gods. They were at least 5'8 or taller, yet here I was, tiny...
"She descends from Persephone, she wasn't any taller either." My dad chuckled, patting my head. I swat his hand away, stopping him from treating me like a child. "Yeah, unfortunately I'll be this size for the rest of my existence..." I said with a sigh. Adrian smiles. "As will the boys." He tells me. Yet the height difference was very clear.

"Glad I'm not the only one stuck on earth for eternity." I said, ruffling at my crimson curls. My dad kicks at my leg, telling me not to act so depressed in front of people, without telling me. I rolled my eyes. I throw my bag over my shoulder. "Right then." I said, floating myself in the air. "Lydia." My dad says. "What? I'll be back." I said. Taking off into the sky, making my way above the house. I fly my way past it, up into the clouds, going as far as I could take myself, stopping and crossing my legs in the air like an imaginary pillow sat beneath me. I knew he had called for me again, most likely annoyed now, I look down. Barely being able to see where the house was. I gaze out over the horizon of New Orleans, seeing the sunset bloom a peachy orange tone, mixing with blush pink and purple. All the city lights started to go on, looking like little starts on the ground from where I was.
