Y/N's POV

You admired the way the leaves were falling onto the ground. Each one fell in a different direction. Each shape different. Each path different. It was fascinating to you.

You were about to pick one up when someone cleared their throat behind you. You rolled your eyes and turned around.

"You know you're not supposed to go this far."

"I'm still in our territory, so why does it matter, Zuho?"

"Your father will be very disappointed if he knew you were out here. He sent me to find you."

"Well, my father can wait a little while longer. I'm not done." You turned back towards the leaves.

"I can't let you stay out here any longer. Your father is already very upset. And it's hunting season. If someone sees you out here, it would not be good."

"I don't think someone would shoot me."

"No one would shoot someone with your beauty, but that doesn't change the fact that it is still dangerous. Let's go now."

You groaned. "Fine."

-----------------------------

"Y/N, where have you been? Your father and I were very worried about you! Are you hurt?" She grabbed your face and examined it.

"No, I'm fine. Nothing happened."

"You know very well that you are not supposed to go out that far. How many times do I have to tell you that?"

"And how many times do I have to tell you that I've grown? I'm 18 now. I know how to protect myself."

"Not here you don't. This place isn't as safe as it seems. You don't have the ability to fight off other wolves, Y/N."

"You let the pups go out all the time. Why am I any different?"

"I've told you. You can't protect yourself like they can. And you have to protect the stone. We can't lose that. I gave it to you to protect. I can't let it get damaged or taken."

You reached towards your necklace and looked at your father. "You need to start giving me more freedom around here."

"I'm protecting you, Y/N. Why don't you understand that?"

"You've protected me for the last 14 years. I know how to protect myself now."

Your mom looked at your father. "Maybe she's right. Maybe it's time she gets more freedom."

He sighed. "Fine. But when she wants to go out, Zuho has to go with."

"What? That's so unfair!"

"It is either that, or you don't go out at all."

"Ugh!" You stormed off.

----------------------------------

You groaned and kicked a pile of leaves.

"This is so unfair! Why do I have to live like this?"

You heard a chuckle come from beside you. You turned towards the noise. You did not see anything. But there was something in the bush, you were sure of it. You bent down to look into the bush next to you.

There you saw it. Those glowing, beautiful, blue eyes. You couldn't look away. They were big, and stunning. You had never seen anything like it. You lifted your hand and tried to reach into the bush towards the eyes, but as you did, there was a low growl. You jumped back a little. It was a wolf. You were sure you had never seen those eyes in your pack. Was this... a trespasser?

Suddenly, someone grabbed you from behind. You turned towards them and saw Zuho. You looked back at the bush. The eyes were gone.

"What are you doing out here? You know you aren't supposed to be alone. Didn't you listen to your father?" You looked at him and then at the bush again.

"I-I..." Zuho looked at the bush.

"What are you looking at?"

"N-Nothing. Just thought I saw something."

"Hmm... Alright. Let's get back. It's dangerous out here-" He stopped and sniffed around you.

"What is it?"

"There's a smell... I'm not familiar with it." He turned into his wolf form and sniffed the ground. He sniffed around until he reached the bush. His ears perked up. "Here." He smelled into the leaves on the bush. "Y/N... We have to go. Now." He turned back to his human form and grabbed your wrist.

"Why? What's wrong?"

"It's not safe here. We must go now." He dragged you back towards the rest of the pack.

"Zuho, tell me. What's going on?"

"There was something there. Or... someone. He doesn't belong in our pack. He isn't safe. He could have killed you."

"Who?"

"I can't tell you. Just know, never go back there again."

-----------------------------------

You laid in bed that night. You tried to fall asleep, but you overheard your father talking to Zuho.

"What do you mean he was here?" Your father said.

"It was him. He was on our land. I could smell his scent. He almost got Y/N."

"He was here for the stone. I thought he'd never come back" he sighed. "You need to watch over Y/N. She needs to be protected. I don't want her leaving. It's too dangerous now if he's out there. If he gets ahold of her, she's dead. I won't let that happen."

"Don't worry. I won't let it happen either."

"Good. I trust you, Zuho. You love my daughter. I know you won't let anything happen to her."

"You can count on me."
