Y/N's POV

4 days after you had returned, you snuck off after breakfast. We decided to visit one of your favorite spots. You came to this tree a lot to clear your mind. It was easy to climb and had a beautiful spot of sun that shined right on it. You found this spot when you were younger. You enjoyed exploring the different parts of the territory, but your heart always lead you back here.

You looked up at the sky and shut your eyes as the gentle breeze blew across your face. The air was crisp and was blowing just right. 

"Mind if I join you?" You looked down and saw Hyunjin standing at the bottom of the tree.

"Of course not." You lightly smiled at him as he climbed up the tree and sat next to you.

"It's beautiful up here."

"It is. I come here often. Helps me clear my mind." You looked back up at the sky, the breeze brushing you once again.

"Mind if I ask you something?"

"You can ask me anything, Jin-ah. You know that."

"You've been acting... different since you came back."

"Different?"

"The way you talked to father the other day. You seemed to be defending the Min's in a way." You looked at Hyunjin, but did not say anything. "What happened to you there?"

"Nothing. They just... have different perspectives on things that's all."

"Who does?"

"Does that matter?"

"Was it Yoongi?"

"I thought you didn't know his name?"

"Father and I talked a lot when you were gone. I know a lot of stuff you don't, Y/N. Please tell me if it was him."

"It was..."

"He's bad, Y/N."

"He's trying to change, Jin. He's not as bad as father makes him out to seem."

"All father wants to do is protect you Y/N. Please understand that."

"You're starting to sound just like him. Why can't you just trust me? Father is going to get himself killed. You're going to get killed if you go after them. You can't do it."

"Y/N-"

"Hyunjin." You saw another person walk up. It was Zuho. "Your father wishes to speak with you." You rolled your eyes and looked away. You felt Hyunjin looking at you before jumping down from the tree.

He quickly ran off as you continued staring off into the trees. You heard Zuho climbing up onto the tree. You tried to ignore him.

"I've missed you."

"Don't you have better things to be doing right now?"

"Your father wants us to spend more time together. He thinks it's getting close."

"Close to what?"

"Our time."

You scoffed. "Our time? Please."

"We've discussed it and the next full moon would be perfect, Y/N. We need to prepare."

You climbed down from the tree as soon as he said that.

"Y/N, wait! You can't hide from this. Your father will find out about you and Yoongi." You stopped walking.

"What do you know about Yoongi and I?"

"Oh please. You act like I can't smell him on you. You were defending him to your brother. I can tell there's something going on between you two. You can't be together, Y/N."

"I never said we wanted to be."

"Trust me, Y/N. I will find out the truth. When I do, so will your father. He'll be disappointed."

"He's already disappointed in me enough. What's another thing going to do?"

Your family had prepared a feast that night. You sat in silence at the table as everyone else was talking to one another. You poked at your food and your mother noticed.

"Y/N, why aren't you eating?"

"I'm not hungry, eomma."

"It's your favorite."

"I know.." You looked down at your hands. Your mother looked over at your father who had also noticed your quietness. He cleared his throat.

"Everyone, quiet down please."

The whole table lowered their voices as your father's raised. You looked at your father.

"I have an announcement. As you know, Y/N is my only daughter. I want what is best for her. As I grow older everyday, it is harder for me to be the protection she needs. It has been my duty over the years to find someone to take my place. As the proud father of many sons, I have made the decision to choose someone not in my bloodline for the alpha." He turned to the man next to you. He nodded.

You looked next to you and saw it was Zuho. You gulped as he stood up. He took your hand and helped you stand up. You looked at him.

"Y/N, your father has chosen me to be the next alpha. I find it only fitting for me to marry his daughter. The bloodline must continue on. To be strong, I need to have someone by my side at all times. You are perfect."

"Y/N, will you marry me?"
