Surprise...?

Leah's POV:

I walk into school and head to my locker

I grab my stuff and head to class

Once I get there I go to my seat in the back

In my third class, the intercom clicks on

"Leah Smith please come to the office"

I'm confused

Is Seth here because I didn't fix breakfast this morning?

I walk up to the office with my head hung low

Once I get there, they tell me to sit and that they need to tell me something

"Honey something happened to your dad" the office lady is sweating bullets

"He passed away a few hours ago" she has a look of sympathy

Wow.

I feel relieved

I shouldn't feel relieved, I should be sad, right?

I'm not sad like I was when my mom died

I'm...happy

I feel free

I just sit there not knowing how to react

"Honey?" The officer at the police station crouches in front of me

I was just told that I have a family

I have a dad

A real dad

And 7 OLDER BROTHERS?!

And they want me to come live with them

I'm scared

What if they are like my so-called "father" that just died

But the biggest thing is...my mom lied to me

She said he was dead

She said I was an only child

I am broken out of my thoughts when the guy in front of me starts to rub my arm

"He's on the way here." He says with a look of sympathy

"Your dad's name is Ace Armstrong" he informs me

So, is my last name Armstrong now? Leah Armstrong. That has a nice ring to it

About an hour later the door to the station opens and I hear a deep masculine voice

"Where's my daughter?"

I then hear footsteps approaching me and then I very very very very tall man crouches down in front of me

Wow, this guy is tall!!

Is this my dad?

He's so tall and muscular

He looks so happy

"Hey sweetheart" he says in astonishment

"H-hi" I smile

"Are you ready to come home?" He asks hopefuls

I nod unsure

But I can't really say no I mean he's my dad

And he seems nice

And I want a new start

Ace's POV:

I chop off another finger and he screams like the little b**ch he is

"Now do you want to tell me where the f**k my money is?" I seethed with anger

Now I usually don't get that involved in the dirty work in the mafia anymore, but I just can't stand this man, I just had to take care of this

"N-never" he sputters out

Oh my God this is way too time consuming

Just as I'm about to sever some more limbs I get a phone call

"I'll be right back" I tell the little c**t sitting in my chair

"Take your time" he spits

I walk out of the room and answer the call

"Hello this is Ace Armstrong"

"Hi Mr. Armstrong, I'm calling to inform you that we have your daughter with us"

What? My daughter?

"M-my daughter? Where are you I'm coming right now?"

"Wait, Mr. Armstrong, the reason I'm calling is to see if you would like to take custody of Leah Smith you are her biological father. Her stepfather died of an overdose earlier this morning. Are you willing?

"Yes, yes I'm willing"

She gave me the location and the line clicked

I run out of the building running into Vince

"Where are you going in such a rush?" He questions

"They found her. They found Leah." I tell him smiling

"They found her really? I'm coming with you." He states

"No, I don't want to overwhelm her go and finish up with that f**ker"

He looks like he's going to protest but he doesn't

I get in my car and drive off to get my daughter

Finally, her brothers are going to be so happy

I walk into the station and look around

"Where's my daughter?" They look up at me and point

I look and I see my little girl sitting in one of the chairs looking around

I go up to her and she looks up at me scared

So, I crouch down to make myself smaller

She makes eye contact with me, and I smile

"Hey sweetheart" I look at her amazed

"H-hi" She replies sheepishly

"Are you ready to go home?" I ask her

I want her to meet her brothers

She nods and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding

"I'm going to fill out some paperwork and be right back okay darling?"

She just nods again

I of course will parent her, but her oldest brother Vince is the head of the household pretty much since I retired

And he's a lot stricter than me

But she's the baby girl so I think she's going to be everyone's favorite

I mean she was when she lived with us before

Before her sorry excuse for a mother left without a trace

I don't know why they didn't contact me when she died

Instead, she had to live with her stepfather

And he died of an overdose

So, he better not have involved her in any of that
