Violet☾:
I woke up to a cute text message from Brielle the morning after Christmas. I haven't woken up with a smile on my face in a long time. I stayed under the covers with Brian sprawled between Penelope and me. I turned to face Pen and sighed. I still feel uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed they banged in but when I came back Pen told me she changed the sheets and I could tell since everything was mismatched. That's definitely not her style; I could tell it bothered her.
I decided to get up quietly and take a shower. I was wondering if I smelled like smoke and didn't want to upset her parents. I hope she's not upset with me either. I peeked out of the bathroom after showering to see if she was up. I saw her tucked under the covers, unsure if she was up or not. As I walked out, I saw the blankets go flying.
"Vi? Oh, it was you." She mumbled.
"Did you think someone else was in here?" I asked.
"Sorry. I had a weird dream and was worried I didn't wake up from it."
"I'm sorry about that, sweetheart. You're safe now," I smiled as I sat on the bed.
We heard a knock and both looked at the door.
"Breakfast is ready girls if you're hungry," Meghan said cheerily.
"I'm gonna shower then we'll be down, Mom!" Pen spoke while stretching.
I don't know why it feels so awkward today.
I opened the door to let the animals roam then sat at the edge of the bed.
"I wasn't sure if you wanted to wait for me, but if you don't want to you can go downstairs," Pen smiled softly as she gathered clothes for the day.
"I'll wait."
I scrolled through my phone as I listened to Pen sing in the shower. I received a text from Shawn saying his family is coming back early for New Year's which I'm excited about. I can't wait to tell him about how great it's been here and meet someone really sweet. I feel scared to tell Penelope. Why do you ask? I wish I had an answer. I know she's told me she had a hard time with friends growing up. My heart's telling me it'll make her think I'm trying to replace or will replace her. My heart will break if those thoughts ever cross her mind. I could never do that to her.
I finished sending Shawn a picture of Binx and me to him as I heard Pen's water turn off. I stood up and held Binx like a gun towards the bathroom door. I spoke as soon as I heard the door open.
"Hands where I can see them!" I'm shocked Binx hasn't even tried to move from my grasp.
"I'm innocent!" Penelope giggled when she saw the cat.
I kissed her head and set her down, watching the cat run out of the room.
"Ready to eat? I'm starving!" I watched her comb her hair quickly before putting on a jacket.
"You should've gone down to eat," She pouted.
"I wanted to wait for you, silly."
I walked behind her and began to eat with her family when we settled in. We had great conversations and what the plans were for New Year's. Pen's parents sound so fun. It makes me hope I'm like that in the future. They invited us to a friend's party they're going to but Penelope said it would be boring with all the "adults". I could tell her dad was offended but I couldn't help but laugh. She's too cute. When we finished eating, we cleaned up so her parents can rest after that delicious breakfast. I was talking with Penelope about moving back in with Shawn so I can get out of her and her family's way. She seemed to get upset because I know they don't mind me here but this house is only so big for them that I feel I'm in the way. She started to frown which made me say we can talk about it later and not think about it now. I can see that made a smile form on her lips. Fuck, why is she so pretty?
