In the morning I was awoken by the sun's rays hitting my eyes. I opened my eyes and blinked the sleep away, "I wonder if or where I can get something to eat?" I stood up and stretched and proceeded to walk out into the hallway. It was eerily quiet for being early in the morning, usually dragons were up at this time. I shrugged and kept walking down the hall until I bumped into Fathom and the purple SeaWing with him. "Oh, sorry." Fathom apologized. "It's alright, I ran into you first." I paused for a moment, "Say, aren't you Fathom? What brings you to the Night kingdom?" Fathom nodded, "Yeah... and I'm uhm... trying to get Darkstalker to stop using animus magic. What brings you here?" "I was sent by Queen Diamond to deliver a message to Darkstalkers father, but then I was asked by Darkstalker to help you." Fathom blinked in confusion, "Help me, help Darkstalker, to stop using their magic?" I shook my head, "No, no, help you get over your fear of Animus magic!" Fathom took a step back, "No, I-I can't- I have to be afraid of it, or else it can have detrimental consequences!" Fathom shuddered and the purple SeaWing stepped closer to him defensively. He nudged them with his wing and whispered, "It's alright Indigo." Indigo stepped back, but was still in the defensive position. "I think you should help me instead," Fathom said, "Darkstalker doesn't understand how dangerous it is!" I nodded, "Yes it can be dangerous." I paused for a moment thinking about all the cases of animus dragons going crazy, "But I believe that it can be good in small amounts, and with the right spells." I had to be right about that, wasn't I walking proof. I'm not crazy or murderous, and I've been around for 2,000 years. Fathom thought for a moment, "I guess." He sighed and looked down the hall, "Do you want to come with me to talk to Darkstalker?" I nodded, "Sure." The three of us headed down the hall and to Outside to go look for Darkstalker.
Eventually we found him and hung out and talked for a while. Darkstalker seemed interesting, he shared a lot of similar ideas with me, Fathom was a ball of anxiety, always acting so cautious or scared to do anything, and wary of anything Darkstalker, or I had to say. Especially after I revealed I was an Animus too. Indigo was always acting defensively, and did not seem to trust Darkstalker at all, or me either, but she really did not like Darkstalker. Darkstalker and I talked for a while about animus magic, and trying to convince Fathom it wasn't as bad as he made it out to be, but our attempts were all unsuccessful. As it got later, Fathom and Indigo had left, leaving only Darkstalker and I. Darkstalker was interested in the spells I had cast, and after we were left together he asked, "So... you accidentally made yourself immortal?" Darkstalker said in a whisper after everyone had left. I nodded, "Yeah... I was just trying to protect myself... but it did this." I said, gesturing to myself. Darkstalker hummed, "And you also kind of did the scroll enchantment?" I nodded, "Yeah, except I didn't transfer all of the magic, just a little bit." Darkstalker hummed again, "It would appear that great minds think alike?" I chuckled, "Yeah, I guess... but I haven't used my magic since... I don't even remember when. And I think Fathom is kinda right... you shouldn't use your magic as often as you do." Darkstalker frowned, "Then what's the point of the magic if you can't use it to make or do great things!" He spread his wings, "I am the most powerful dragon in all of Pyrrhia after all, shouldn't I use my magic to help others?" I nodded in agreement, "Yes, you should, but you also use it on frivolous things." I waved my wing towards the earrings and tail band he wore, "Like that. I never did any enchantments like that!" Darkstalker huffed, "They're not 'frivolous,' they're important to me." I sighed, "If you say so... but in my opinion I'd stop using it on things like that." I saw Darkstalker roll his eyes, "Whatever you say, I should probably get home." Darkstalker flew off leaving me by myself. I flew back to the palace almost immediately after Darkstalker left.
