"Why are you guys so slow today?"

Mrs Kim blew her whistle as Physical Education lesson ended, gathering the students to return the equipments into the designated cages (balls are stored in cages that's what we call it here).

"The two over there, please help return the equipments back to the storeroom. The rest of you go wash up and go for your next class."

Pointing at Chae ah and another student, Mrs Kim left after the students greeted her.

Dahee, the other classmate help carry the equipments along with Chae ah to the storeroom at the back of the classroom block.

"Chae ah, can I borrow your math practice paper along with your notes?"

The girl asked as the locked the storeroom door after keeping the equipments.

"Don't you have your own notes?"

Chae ah didn't really like the likes of Dahee. Born in Seoul from an average family, her father is apparently a professor at Seoul university, increasing her chances. Her grades weren't too far behind ranking around 10th.

Although, she had a very boastful attitude and shameless, openly asking people for notes or papers from their own private tutoring. Having said, she was someone who studies others notes to get her grades, not that she didn't understand but rather, too lazy to take her own.

"Is your notes that secretive? We all study the same thing. Can't you just borrow it to me?"

"And then? Instead of using it as reference, you will photocopy it. Why don't you just get your own tutor?"

"Because I don't need a tutor. I'm already good on my own."

"Start writing your own notes then. I don't have any outside tutoring either so there's barely any extra notes to share with you."

"Just lend me whatever notes you have."

"Sorry but no."

"No? Do you think so highly of yourself because you're top 3 for sciences?"

Dahee called out.

"A little, 10th place is not comparable to me."

Chae ah smirked, as she fought back her comment, head raising high.

Dahee was dumbfounded as Chae ah didn't seem intimidated by her attitude. It was easy for her before to get other people notes because the top 2 scorers where absolute nerds who were quiet introverts that were too timid to speak up.

"Not comparable? At least I'm not last for literature."

"Well, people say look for their strengths. Yours? 10th place in Math is still far from 3rd place in physics and Maths. By the way, I'm top five for the other sciences too."

Chae ah continued,

"Mind you we are in a different league. No matter how confident you are I can guarantee I'll still do better overall. After all, I write my own notes."

Dahee was furious, at the verge of throwing fists as she clenched her teeth in anger.

"Yeah, we are different. You're just mere girl from Incheon, maybe the countryside?"

"But I'm here in Seoul, doing better than you."

"You're clearly just a wannabe. Is that why you always hang around Jake? You say it's because your ranks are next to each other but really it's because y'all aren't from here."

"We're still Korean citizens."

"I heard that guy is Australian? He lived there longer than korea. Is he pretending to be rich? Who knows he might just be a farmer."
