this weekend was boring, the guys were gone, ellie had to do things with her family, kailey was out of town yesterday and today while sierra had gotten some type of head cold. i guess this was my lazy sunday.
it was early evening so there wasn't much to do around here, the guys were coming back tonight but not until around nine.
until then, mom was working, dad was out with some guys he had met so charlie and i were playing a few board games to pass the time like we did when we were younger. "it's your turn" he says i roll the dye and get a six "this is boring" i tell him "yeah well what else would you like to do? i got in trouble with mom so i unfortunately at the age of twenty one am somehow grounded" "grounded you? what?" "she didn't tell you? did you not hear us screaming at each other last night?" "no, i went to bed pretty early" grounding isn't really something mom does, so he must have fucked up bad. especially at his grown age.
"she caught me smoking in my room" he says "are you serious? how stupid are you? you have a balcony attatched to your room and you didn't think to go out there? plus i thought you quit cigarettes" i ask with panic lacing my voice. "i did, ive just been stressed recently" he mumbles "charlie" i sigh "you're better than that " "i know it was a mistake, anyways im stuck here for the next two days." "you're twenty one, she can't actually ground you right?" "no, but i'm just gonna let her think she can. i know she's had a rough couple days and i fucked up so, i'll let her have it." "you worry me" "just don't follow in my footsteps." "i don't plan on it." he laughs and we begin to put the board game away
"i just don't get why mom is so cautious with me she lets you have friends over and get drunk, but she finds me smoking and im on house arrest" "okay, i'm also nineteen, and the bar is pretty low for me. you're twenty one and should have learned by now" "i guess, just frustrating she was never as hard on you as she was on me when i was your age."
"why do you hate dad so much, i mean i get he did something's but you can't hate him forever. you haven't made an recent efforts with him and it's noticeable" "i don't hate him, i dislike him. he's not a good person, but it's nice to see that he's trying with you." i tell him "it's just not fair the way you treat him. they fixed their issue years ago and now they're trying to co parent us. maybe we can take a trip back to boston next month and stay with him." "so he can cheat on mom no problem?" "that's not what i'm saying, but if she is over that then why aren't you?" "because i had to see it unfold all three times. you were barely home charlie. he also took it out on me, do you not remeber the constant screaming between us?" "i think you should give him a chance. from what i've seen he is a new person." i ignore him and pull out my phone as it had been blowing up in my back pocket
