TWO WEEKS HAD GONE BY since the party, my dad had implemented mandatory family dinner every wednsday night and now that he has been here for so long i don't think he plans on leaving, which is something i would bring up tonight, since we're all playing off this happy little family persona.
i've been at sierras house almost everyday, i don't know if the car incident cause grayson to keep his distance from me or what but he hasn't been around. i think ive seen him two or three times and all were just in passing.

family dinner had officially started and all i could do was count down until i could get out of here, the boys had a hockey game tonight at eight so i only agreed to dinner if i was able to go to the game. kyle sat next to me, charlie across from him, my mother next to him and my father at the head.
mom had prepared some type of pasta seafood dish that i wanted no part of so i was really just picking around on my plate.
"oddly quiet tonight" dad looks at me
"considering the last few times we had family dinner i ended up leaving the table because none of you liked what i had to say, i figured ill keep my mouth shut." i send him a fake smile causing my mother to sigh and look at me from across the table.
"millie, you should be able to say whatever you want to say. but with that being said you also need to respect what we say back and listen to us before walking out. so please, say what it is you want to say." she insists
i shrug and think about how to word this.

"dad, when you first came here you said you were just visiting. it's now been weeks and you're still here" i say "i mean i can't be the only one who's weirded out" i look at both kyle and charlie who nod their heads.
"i understand how that can be confusing to you, i do but your mother and i have also made it clear we're trying to work on things in our marriage and-"
"i just think that things were better when you weren't here" i interrupt him

"well, charlotte i am sorry that you feel that way. i am trying to be more involved in all of your lives, i know i haven't been the best father but there is changes i want to make."
"yeah, okay"
"anything else you need to get off your chest?" mom asks
i still haven't had the talk with them about kyle, and how i know he had a drug problem they still believe that i think he just left. i figured family dinner wasn't the time to bring this up, i could have this talk seperate my with my mom.
"no" i tell them and we return to eating together. the tension was still very thick and i don't think that things will ever be back to normal in this household.
when dinner was done charlie and i helped mom with the dishes, i was trying to gain brownie points so hopefully be able to skip dinner next week.

i headed back up to my room to find something to wear. it was only fix thirty and the game wasn't until eight so we were gonna hangout with the guys for a few minutes before they left for warmups.

i ended up wearing jeans and a white long sleeve, i put graysons cardinals t shirt on over for a layered comfy look, i seem to have collected a few clothing articals of his over the past few months. luckily there were no indicators of this being his shirt. i was brining my jacket too because it gets pretty cold in the hock rink.
i grabbed my wallet and slipped on my shoes before running down the stairs saying bye to my family and going out to the car.
