reading the last message i quickly got up from my bed and throw myself together. i checked our Life360 circle and saw that he was still home so this gave me roughly ten minutes if he was really coming. i had changed into a t shirt and shorts last night when i got home. now getting ready i decided to throw on a sweatshirt and keep my shorts on. the weather didn't look too cold today.

i went down the stairs and into the kitchen where my mom was sitting on her phone dressed in her work clothes. "where's charlie?" i ask her "out with your father, they will be back later tonight. i'm heading out in a minute you need anything? i made oatmeal and there's a few waffles left if you're hungry" she says "oh i'm all set, a few of my friends are gonna come over if that's okay?" a car door closes from outside and she gives me a 'i'm not stupid' "sure, considering it appears they're already here." "it was last minute. won't be for long" i tell her "alright, i have to get going i'll see you tonight for dinner?" she asks as she gets up and starts walking towards the sink to clean out her coffee mug "yeah, sure"
grayson knocks on the door so i walk over and open it. "millie i-" he starts "not yet, my mom is down here" i tell him opening the door wider so he can come in. "mrs evans, i'm grayson" "you can call me sherrie, i wish i could stay and chat but i have to head to work. help yourself to snacks and whatever is in the fridge. have a good day millie i'll be home later" she says as she rushes out the garage door leaving grayson and i in the kitchen.
