BEING IN LOVE is something i haven't experienced, not until i met Grayson. i was the new girl three months ago, we met at a party and clicked instantly. he was the type of guy i needed, tall, smart, handsome, tattoos that raked up his arms. i knew i wanted him, and he wanted me.

"millie" i introduce myself, a smile beaming on my face.
"grayson. i haven't seen you before, you from around here?" he asks
"i just moved last week from boston, i figured i could meet a few people coming here tonight. word gets out rather quickly around here"
"must be my lucky day, can i get you a beer or something?"
"i'll have a soda, i don't drink much"
"i'll be right back" he says and gives me a small smile before turning away from me and going over the table filled with various types of alcohol as well as a few twelve packs of soda.

i wouldn't change anything that happened that night, i met the love of my life. we had our ups and downs, don't get me wrong but we were happy.

"here" he hands me a can of diet coke after cracking it open, i look down at his hands which had splotches of ink on them. i quickly found myself attracted to him. my life back in boston wasn't something i planned on bringing up here. it wasn't worth it, i wanted a fresh start.

"you wanna sit? we can go somewhere and
talk?" i ask him.
he nods his head and holds my hand leading the way to the couch in the living room, it was still crowded but not nearly as much as the kitchen.

"so, millie, tell me about yourself" he asks
"what do you wanna know?"
"all your deepest and darkest secrets"
"oh, like my favorite color and if i have any pets?"
"exactly what i was thinking"
he gives me a grin, i return by biting my bottom lip holding back my own smile.
"tell me, what is a pretty girl like you doing in charleston"
"my mom got a job transfer, law firm thing. i don't ask questions."
"do you have any siblings?"
"an older brother, what about you?"
"older brother and sister, twins. so your whole family moved here?"
"yeah, well not my dad but that's beside the point i guess"
"not in the picture?"
"cutting right to the chase huh?"
"just trying to get a better idea of you"

and so he did, he eventually knew more about me than anyone else. i didn't think i could ever get so close to someone in such a short time.

"no, i mean, not really. he's in my life just not home a lot, you know?"
"i get it, my mom isn't home much"
"now you, deepest, darkest secret." i tell him
"oh where do i begin? i killed someone
once" he smirks and my face drops and i look at him with wide eyes.
"kidding, partially"
"partially?" i challenge
"don't worry about it"
"you're bad news aren't you?" i ask and he flashes a bright seductive smile at me

we sit quietly for a few seconds before we're interrupted.
"gray, maddison's here, she's looking around for you" a guy, i'm assuming a friend says to him.
grayson gives him a look before sighing.
"go, im gonna meet some other people, you know, before i go into the rest of my time here with zero friends."
"yeah, hey millie, can i get your number?" he asks
"i'll see you around, grayson"
