Mariam paid the taxi driver before walking towards the door of the house setting her eyes on Amir 's Peugeot infront of the house meaning that he's already in the house even before her.
She opened the door which is the entrance to the small house that has no gate. Mariam prayed inwardly that Hanifa should not be in the house, she doesn't want an extra headache apart from the one she already has from all the stress of the problematic life she's experiencing.
Fortunately for her, Hanifa is not in so she quickly made her way to her room not wanting to meet Amir or Basira on her way.
The first thought that came to her head was to check herself in the mirror, but she quickly dismissed the thought not wanting to see how skinny she had become in past few months. The change she had seen yesterday in the mirror is enough to tell her that she is getting slimmer on daily basis.
Opening the door to her room , Mariam laid on her bed not knowing what to do again. Ahmad had given her a day off so she's free today and can finally rest. Though she has to admit that she is surprised that Ahmad has actually given her a day off.
She must have looked so pathetic while crying Mariam thought.
She just hopes this 'a day off ' She has been given is not a way of reducing her salary which Ahmad probably enjoys doing whenever a little mistake is done in the company.
Mariam carried her diary and updated it to elapse time. Being bored, she decided to go and watch in the living room as that's the only place in the house that has a television set.
She got out of her room and walked to the living room, Mariam sat down on the same brown couch she sat on during her bitter conversation with Hanifa. The living room was quiet, just how she liked it to be.
She turned on the television which took some minutes before coming on. The 'GOTV' logo comes up and she smiled seeing the 'live it love it ' written in a yellow fonts.
Mariam was watching when she felt a sink on the couch signifying that somebody else is seated on it beside her. She turned to see Amir's face staring at her with an 'apologetic' look on his face.
"Mariam.." Amir said calling out her name with his eyes still glued to her face.
No response
"Mariam.." Amir called again moving to sir closer to Mariam who quickly shifted aside to create a huge gap between them, at times she could not believe she had fallen in love with Amir before she found out the truth of the happenings.
No response
"Mariam, I'm taking to you." Amir called trying his best not to lash out his anger on her, he is trying to suppress his anger issues just to be at peace with her but when he called her name again and she did not answer it, he completely lost it allowing his anger to overtake him.
