“Yeah, hold on!” I shouted to the person at the door. The rain made it sound like there was a drill on top of my roof. It seemed like it would never stop. “What?” I asked as I opened the door. “Salisha?” I asked. There stood an African-American girl. Her shirt which was too tight to begin with clung to her. Her pants looked as if they were painted on her, but the water on her face was NOT the rain. “Are you crying?” “Can I come in?” she asked, rushing me. “Uh, yeah sure. Do you want some clothes to change into?” I asked, opening the door then shutting it behind her. “Yes please.”

“So, what happened?” I asked, handing her a mug filled with tea. “Well, Jay pulled us all into a meeting.” Right. Jayden, the man I met two weeks ago. The man I wanted to kill. “And?” I asked. “No one took us seriously. They all thought we were bluffing when we said we should be feared.” Worry rose withing me as she stopped to look at me. This wasn't just any kind of gang. Jayden was running it like a dictatorship. “You didn't-” “He told us to kill as many kids as we could.” I stood up, rubbing my temples. “Damn it!” I swore, slamming my fist against the wall. “Why did you? If you could kill them, you could of stopped him,” I said, clenching my fist so tight it was turning white. “I didn't have a choice!” “Everything we do is a choice!” I snapped, turning around. “It was your choice to join that gang. It was your choice to wear those clothes. No matter what we say or do, it's all our choices. You killed innocent children because it was your choice!” I shouted, slamming my fist into the wall again. Salisha jumped and hugged her cup tighter. “How many?” I asked. “How many what?” “How many kids did you kill!?” Salisha looked down, “Two. I killed two kids.” I closed my eyes. “I cam to you, because I want to change! I only joined this damn gang because Jayden said he'd leave me if I didn't!” I opened my eyes again. “If you want to change your life, then you are marching over to that family, do whatever you can to help them. If they ask you to never talk to them again, so be it. Do whatever the hell they say and keep doing it until they forgive you.” Salisha nodded. “Will you help me with taking down Jayden?” she asked. I looked around the room for something to look at. “Maybe. But you have to swear to never kill anyone who has a clean slate.” Salisha nodded, “I promise. I'll only kill Jayden and his gang.”

“Izzy, I know you're here!” I called out to an open room. “You're looking in the wrong location!” a heavy English accent called out. “Iz?” I asked, walking out to the balcony of the girl's apartment. “Why are you up on the roof?” I asked, looking up at the smoking girl. “You really should quit smoking.” Izzy shrugged and smashed the cigarette in her hand. “It's better then smoking something else, Des,” Izzy said, giving me a disapproving look. “Look, I need your help. No need to go lecture on me.” Izzy wiped her mouth and jumped down from the roof next to me. “And what would that be, love?” she asked. “As you already know, there's a new gang.” Izzy cocked her head, “Really?” she asked. “Cut the crap, I know you knew before anyone else.” A cocky grin appeared on her face. Izzy was someone I met during the middle of my moping time. She turned out to be a skilled fighter in ranged attacks and melee. She also knew almost everything. “I heard they're killing off kids?” she half asked, half said. I nodded, “That's why I need you. Salisha and I are already planning a way to kill off Jayden, but we need your help. Jayden will be a problem for me, so if you take care of the rest of them, we'll be set.” Izzy smiled, “Aye aye, capin'. Roger that. I'll get to work on my throwing. I've gotten a bit rusty.” I gave her a look and she returned it with her cocky grin again. “I'm jus' jokin', love. Of course I can kill 'em off.”

“So, Des. Tell me about these dreams you're having.” I looked at my therapist, my arm holding up my head. “Well, they've gotten weirder since I started taking this medicine. These big ass bunnies come hopping up to me, and when I'm about to pet them, they turn into narwhals that run me through.” He nodded, “That is a bit strange from the other ones. I mean, this turned into man eating chocolate to killer narwhals. Hm, perhaps it's how you're taking the pills.” I rolled my eyes, “Am I supposed to do a chant, then swallow?” He laughed, “No. How many are you taking?” I held up two fingers, “At the same time?” he asked. I nodded. “Two in the mornin', two in the night.” He let out a sigh, “I think it's just your dreams that are the problem. The medicine isn't effecting you.”
