Chapter 1

Aiden White

On top of the world. That's how I have been feeling since the beginning of summer. My life has been the greatest it has ever been. I actually got into Princeton University. I'm going to my dream college, and I'm on the division 1 track team. All of my physical and academic work has finally paid off. It still feels so extremely unreal. What's even better though is the fact that I'm only a little over an hour away from my twin sister Kalani and my girlfriend Bella's university. I can still hang out with my sister and my girlfriend every single weekend. The best part by far is I finally get a break from that dick Max Steller. God I hate him.

Max was quite literally everywhere I was. He was always at my house, at Bella's house, at school, and even after school at track practice. You might be asking me, "why was this freak everywhere you went?" If you are that's extremely valid. If you're not you should be. Not so long story short, Max happens to be my sister's boyfriend and my girlfriend's twin brother. Crazy right? I know it sounds stupid and unlikely that two pairs of twins are dating, but it's happening. Enough talk about Max, let's get back to me.

BEEP BEEP BEEP!

"Augh," I groaned as I turned off my alarm. Usually I would snooze the alarm and sleep in for another 10 to 20 minutes, but not today. Today I was moving into my dorm and checking out the campus.

I wiped the sleep out of my eyes as I got up from the hotel bed. I checked the time, 6:30. I headed to the bathroom to start my morning routine.

I quickly turned on my "Good day" Spotify playlist and hopped into the shower.

While getting out of the shower I slipped on a towel and again checked the time, 6:45. I brushed my teeth and started my face and hair routine.

I walked to my luggage to picked out an outfit for the day. A black long sleeve shirt layered under my favorite white t-shirt with a pink graphic design, some basic cargo pants, my Valentine's Day Jordan 1's, some jewelry, and of course my "Steller" necklace. I headed to the lobby where my mother was waiting.

"Goodmorning Aiden, how was your sleep?," my mother asked as we walked to the car.

"Goodmorning, my sleep was great," I replied with a smile, "how was yours?"

"It was okay, I prefer my bed at home better though," she answered with a light hearted laugh.

Getting into the passenger seat of my car, I once again checked the time, 7:10. We were making good time.

We got to the campus around 7:30. I checked into the campus where I got my student ID, student key, and my dorm room key.

We head to my dorm room and load my living necessities in it over several long trips, but leaving my stuff in my room to set up and put away later. Right now we had to make it to Jammin' Crepes for breakfast before it was packed.

Thankfully when we got to Jammin' Crepes it was only 8:15, and there were still available tables. My mom and I sat down and ordered our breakfast.

"I'm so sad that this is going to be our last breakfast together for a while," my mother said trying not to get emotional.

"Come on mom, don't get all sappy on me," I replied with a slight hitch in my voice.

"You're right, I wouldn't want to start crying in the middle of the restaurant." My mom smiled, placing her hand over mine, "you're going to do great things, Aiden. I love you, and I'm so proud of you."

"Thanks mom, I love you too," I said holding back tears.

When we got back to the campus my dad was there waiting to take my mom back home in their minivan. My dad smiled, "Hey buddy, how's your day been?"

"It's been good dad, how was your drive from NYU?" I replied.

"Good, good"

"That's great. Kalani didn't come with you?"

"Nope, she told me she was really busy setting up her dorm the exact way she wanted it."

"Typical," I replied.

My parents and I toured the campus for about a half an hour before they had to head home. I gave them both a hug, and off they went.

On my way back to my room I pulled out my phone to text Bella, "hey beautiful, how's your day going at NYU?"

"Hey handsome, my days been going good. Kalani and I met some new girls, and we're going out for dinner tonight."

"Sounds good, I hope you have fun :)"

"Thanks, I will. Anyway, how's your day been going?"

"Kind of emotional with my parents and stuff. I also miss you, but besides that really great. The campus is beautiful, I found an amazing breakfast place by the campus, and my dorm is nice."

"I miss you too, but we'll see each other soon. And I'm glad you're having a good day. Have you met your roommate yet?"

"Nope, I was only in my room for a bit and left right away to get breakfast with my mom. I'll probably meet him soon, I'm heading to my dorm right now."

"Okay, have fun. I love you."

"I love you too"

"Talk to you later"

"Talk to you later," and with that I peeked at the time, 9:14, slid my phone into my pocket and entered the room feeling good.

Immediately my mood shifted as I see him standing in the room on his phone...

Max Steller.

He turned around with a smile that instantly faltered. We stood staring at each other in awkward silence for what seemed like an eternity.

Then he finally says, "hey..."
