oh my god he was going to die.
he knew it.
he so desperately knew it.
his nerves were jittery. his legs were shaking. his heart was beating at a thousands miles per second.
fuck, fuck, fuck.
he couldn't breathe. he couldn't think. he couldn't even move. his body was permanently glued to the ground; the lightest muscle unwilling to twitch.
where was he?
where the hell was he?
did he send him the correct address?
did he specify what time it started?
he couldn't remember.
oh, god. he couldn't even remember.
yeonjun rocks back on his heels- pushing his crossed arms even tighter against his chest; hoping that it would make him smaller and less visible to the eyes wandering past him.
he looked like a loner. like he actually got stood up. a pathetic little loser.
he tries his best to ignore all the couples and people that eye him oddly as they slip inside the booming house. pretending that he hasn't been standing outside for thirty straight minutes as the party begins to fill with vibrant life.
maybe this was a dumb idea.
maybe it was stupid to even ask him.
maybe he was idiotic for thinking that soobin would show up in the first place.
he should've known. he so should've known better.
and now he just seemed like a little lost homeless child.
yeonjun tries to blink back the torturing thoughts scratching his brain- pretending and convincing himself that it couldn't be true. it just couldn't be. soobin wouldn't actually do such a thing. right?
the scans over the crowds still passing him. over all the groups and huddles he could see. over all the faces and expressions that tantalized him. over every single detail and wrinkle; making sure soobin didn't somehow slip past him.
he looks around anxiously- worry and restlessness flooding his veins- as he continues to switch his weight between his feet. trying to keep himself occupied.
he sighs- blinking back the concern- as he bites his bottom lip. now giving up the tiny sliver of hope as he yanks out his phone with determination.
within seconds, yeonjun already speed dialed soobin's number and was swinging up the phone next to his shivering ear. hearing how the ringing was screaming into his eardrum; making him deaf.
he waits. patiently. one count. one blink.
he pulls it away. now checking the time. hearing how the earsplitting sound gently fades away.
7:39.
soobin was never late.
never.
yeonjun heaves loudly. not hesitating to already push the red button- hanging up the call; leaving it for what it could be.
he pockets the phone angrily; upset at himself. agitated that he made such a foolish mistake. hating that he allowed his heart to believe such a lie.
he should leave. just leave. pretend that he was never here in the first place.
he seriously needed to go home and bury himself under the covers; wishing he could forget what a moron he made of himself.
he leaps from his spot within an instant. watching down at how his feet hurriedly scurry with determination. pacing so fast and announcing his departure from the party he never once entered.
