Indecisive

If I could define a ghost in a bed sheet I would
A pastel persona
A photograph

You know the sliver
From the conniving little splinter,
on the floorboard?
Or a bad box spring mattress
Something I could never get quite comfortable on

You know the feeling?
The lingering feeling
Of a gripping grab on your cooled off outside leg

Dangling

Free falling

Fond, yet frightening enough?

The ghost's breathe
Cools the outer leg
Chilling it in the fridge full of Lucifer's libido

Forcing you to flail back under the fire
Beads of sweat barreling down your skin
Forgetting the forgiveness of air
Because one little snag could take you whole

A blanket
A body
A basement floor

Cooler
Ironically closer

And a bedsheet
