healing her daughter

And despite us being parallel
We force a perpendicular intersection
We both lock eyes
Opening the window
One more hug
Yes we kiss
Because life is a fleeting moment

In a minute you will feel pain
Melting off your bones
Inhaling your exhales
Life is a fleeting moment.

A fraction of a fraction of time
In such a large planet.
We are the rings wrapped around Saturn;
Spinning and continuing,
Why bother stopping?

Stopping and allowing
The sun to swallow our skin.
We'd rather fall asleep tanning
And wake up with the burn tomorrow.
Nothing that can't be fixed with aloe;
A constant state of smooth paste.
Inebriate my anatomy,
Open the window again.

Opening the window
To let the little soul in again.
Letting it jump on the couch again.
Letting her breathe.
Reminding her
that it is possible to love her.
And helping her remember
how to love.
