Heavy is the Head That Wears the Crown

Impaled by the scepter,
his entire body begs him
to bend onto his knees
and succumb to self actuality.

Formulating nervous habits
from needless pain.
Pain that is sporadically fixable
yet still radiates through his bones.

The king becomes the caitiff,
power intoxicating his chalice.
His benevolence is drowned out
by brutalizing discomfort.
