Sometimes I wonder why I waited
My coat in the crook of my neck
Chair leather sticking to my thighs
The whirring and the beeping
Alcohol rub.Sometimes I wonder why I waited
Laying naked on the floor
Staring at the sunken side of our bed
Making space in my life for you
Making so much space in my life for youSometimes I wonder why I stayed
A silent little mouse
Straining to strip skin from the glue trap
Pretending it was homeEating myself out
Guts spilled
Going insane
Escaping the realityDisassociating
Dissolving
Diving head first
Into skin and sweat and seductionSometimes I wonder why I did it
And then I remember what you did.
