Kawai raced into the hospital, panting heavily, while Beomgyu trailed behind her. "K-Kim Minkyu and J-Jackson Wang, where are they?" she asked, still breathing heavily. The accountant lady glanced up at her and responded, "Fifth floor, Room Number Twenty for Wang Kai Hee, same floor, Room Number Twenty-One for Kim Minkyu." Kawai hurried away, dashing into the elevator, followed closely by Beomgyu.
She hurriedly stepped out of the elevator, discovering Seokjin, Jimin, Jungkook, Felix, and Yoongi already seated in the waiting area. Struggling to breathe, Kawai asked, "W-What happened to them?" Yoongi turned to her, and Seokjin comforted, "It's alright." Jimin elaborated, "Both of them were stabbed in the stomach." She gasped, "S-Stabbed?" Beomgyu encouraged her to sit down, guiding her into a chair next to Yoongi.
Yoongi looked straight ahead as the doctor stepped out of the room. Jimin was the one to talk to him. "Minkyu is out of danger," he said. "And Jackson?" Felix inquired, and an anguished sigh escaped Jimin's lips. "He couldn't survive," he replied. Everyone stood in shock, and tears streamed down Kawai's face. Her mouth gaped, and she gazed at Jimin in disbelief. Beomgyu turned to her, swallowing, as she began to drift into unconsciousness. Beomgyu held her tightly, catching her before she fell.
Jungkook placed a rose on the grave, stepping back to join Seokjin, Felix, Jimin, Jungkook, and Yoongi. The somber mood was disrupted by the sound of rain, their suits now soaked. Jimin wept as tears streamed down. They heard an umbrella being opened, its sound reverberating around them, prompting them to look behind. There stood Taehyung, clad in goggles, a hat, and gloves, wearing a shiny suit, holding a bouquet of countless roses. He grinned and advanced towards them.
Yoongi regarded Taehyung, rain soaking through their clothes. Taehyung performed a religious gesture with his fingers, touching his nose and then both shoulders before settling back onto the grass. Yoongi and the others clenched their fists in respectful silence. Taehyung rose, turning to confront Yoongi, his expression softening as he spoke: "Long time no see, brother." Yoongi chuckled, Taehyung joining in, "It's been awhile. Sorry I'm late. I just found out about the love of your life. I'll have a plan soon."
Taehyung clenched his jaw, his hands clutched into tight fists as he turned his gaze skyward. "It's raining," he muttered, walking away while humming a tune. His men followed him, forming a procession out of the graveyard. "I hate him so much," mumbled Jungkook. Yoongi exhaled, looking at the grave and mimicking Taehyung's religious sign.
Kawai opened her eyes, lying on a hospital bed. She turned to her left and saw Beomgyu sitting there. He quickly stood up and asked, "Are you okay?" But she erupted into tears. Beomgyu panicked, gently shushing, "Shhh, don't cry, don't cry." She muttered through her tears, "How did this happen?" Facepalming, she cried even harder. Beomgyu gulped, gently patting her trembling back.
The door slowly opened, and Taehyung glanced in. Beomgyu looked at him, nodding in response to Taehyung's question. Taehyung sighed, tidying his hair before entering the room. Beomgyu stepped back, giving them space. She couldn't see him because she was facepalming. Taehyung gestured for Beomgyu to leave, who bowed and walked out, leaving them alone. Taehyung placed a comforting hand on her back, calling out gently, "Kawai." She quickly raised her head, choking out, "H-He killed J-Jackson."
Her voice trembled as she hugged his waist, tears streaming down her face. Taehyung closed his eyes, not liking the sound of her crying. "Shhh, calm down," he whispered, bending down to her level. Her eyes were watery, her nose red from crying. He gently grasped her cheeks, "Now stop crying." He wiped away her tears, but she shook her head vehemently.
"No, that Kim Taehyung will pay for this," she choked out. "I won't let him go unpunished for what he has done to my friends."
He poked his tongue against his cheek as she lowered her head, crying even harder. Taehyung wrapped his arms around her in a gentle embrace, murmuring soothingly, "Shhh, shhh." He comforted her by softly patting her head.
Felix spoke softly, "I should have been the one to die, not him." Seokjin, Jimin, Yoongi, and Jungkook, all dressed in black suits, sat before a large photo of Jackson. Friends had left messages for him on sticky notes. Jimin shook his head, teary-eyed, as Felix teared up. Yoongi sat between them, fixated on the floor. "How can he kill anyone he pleases and simply attend their funeral afterward?" Seokjin wondered aloud, his eyes glistening with tears.
"Just as he made his name in England, he's done the same here," explained Yoongi. "By offering bribes to politicians, purchasing properties—those politicians themselves are the biggest fraudsters, and the courts and cops do everything he asks them to. The smile on his face says it all; he owns all of it here," Yoongi elaborated, causing them to turn to him. "Maybe they will make him prime minister next year," Felix mumbled.
"Just look at the way he walked without a care in the world, and he even brought that girl here without any concern," Seokjin remarked. Yoongi chuckled bitterly, "He isn't wrong, though. We can't harm him, we can't cause him any harm, as long as we continue to be kind and try not to hurt anyone who is innocent. In that case, yes, one of us will die every day. He loves to attend funerals, he will kill us one by one, and he will be there to witness it."
All of them exchanged solemn looks. "The first step to revenge is to be heartless," Yoongi stated. Jimin swallowed hard in agreement, "He's right. If he has everything, he won't let us go." Jungkook nodded, his voice shaky, "Just like how we're sitting at a funeral today; tomorrow, one of us will be the one in that photo." Yoongi pointed to the photo of Jackson, "Felix, if you want him to pay for what he has done to your noona, you must throw your heart away. Listen to your mind, work from it, and fight with it."
"Kindness only leads to pain," Yoongi continued.
"Jimin, don't trust your eyes, don't care about what is right or wrong. Just focus on what you want, what will bring you satisfaction, what will make the enemy cry," Yoongi declared. "Seokjin Hyung, think about what you have lost. Recall all the days you spent with the one who is gone now, and learn the enemy's moves better than simply cursing them. Use your mind, not your tongue; it will pay off in the end," Yoongi advised.
"Jungkook, if you are afraid of attending funerals and witnessing people cry, I'm sorry, but prepare yourself for the grief of yet another funeral," continued Yoongi.
Yoongi stood up, buttoning his blazer, before walking away. "He's right," Seokjin said. "How many more days can we just sit around and watch people die without doing anything? At least we should hurt him in return, scare him like he scares us." Jungkook agreed, "I'm in as well." Felix nodded, "Count me in," echoed Seokjin. All eyes turned to Jimin, who lowered his head before slowly nodding his assent. "I'll join too," he confirmed.
Yoongi entered the hospital, heading straight for the elevator. Exiting onto the third floor, he spotted Beomgyu anxiously standing in the corridor, looking pale. Beomgyu tried to obstruct him, shaking his head. Undeterred, Yoongi regarded his face for a moment before forcibly pushing him aside and opening the hospital room door. Kawai was asleep, but the room appeared to be empty. Beomgyu got up hastily from the floor, rushing in after him.
"What are you doing in here?" Yoongi whispered, before suddenly and ruthlessly gripping Beomgyu's throat and slamming him against the wall. Beomgyu's eyes widened, and he struggled against the hold. Yoongi leaned in, whispering in his ear, "Tell me who he was." Beomgyu shook his head in a panic, his eyes turning red. Yoongi muttered, "I assume you don't care about this girl's life then." He pulled out a gun, reloading it and aiming it at Kawai, who was blissfully asleep.
"If something happens to her, that ass hole sir of yours will make sure you suffer the most painful death ever," Yoongi whispered, staring down at Beomgyu. Beomgyu gulped, closing his eyes, shaking as he pulled out his phone and handed it to Yoongi. "H-He is the one," Beomgyu managed to utter. Yoongi took a picture of the number on the phone and tossed it out the window. Standing in the doorway, he suddenly aimed and shot beside Beomgyu's leg, causing him to half scream, half palm his mouth.
Yoongi exited the room, and Beomgyu cast a brief glance at Kawai before noticing that she was still unconscious, courtesy of the doctor's intervention to aid her rest. With a shaky stand, he hastily left the room, closing the door behind him.
