"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"
It was potions class and Riley was sitting by herself in Snape's class.
Suddenly, a boy with black hair came up to her shyly.
"There's no other open spots and class is about to start so..."
Riley nodded quickly and gestured to the seat beside her.
The boy took a seat and smiled at her, grateful.
"Hi, I'm Chris Bahng, but all my friends call me Chan." "Hi Chris, I'm Riley Nakano," Riley smiled. "No, no, we're friends now! Call me Chan," he replied.
Riley laughed and nodded just as Professor Snape walked into the room.
"Quiet down Nakano, class is starting," Snape sneered.
Riley instantly shushed and turned her attention to the front.
Chan watched with a smile on his face. There was something different about this girl... he just wasn't sure what it was.
