I had poured my heart out to Yukio, expressing my feelings of inferiority. He'd listened patiently, allowing me to vent without interruption. However, after I'd finished ranting, he took the initiative, doing his best to problem-solve with me. He'd understood my dilemma, that I cared about Izumo and wanted more than just friendship. However, her unabashed personality could be hurtful, and it wasn't something I should deal with currently. He'd been just as torn as I was. I knew he liked Kamiki-chan, and he was cheering us on from the sidelines. But my well-being was more important to him than a high-school relationship.

It was the next day, and I was lazily laying in bed, contemplating his words: Right person, wrong time. My expression twisted at the phrase, becoming bothered by what that insinuated for Izumo and I. Was a relationship between us truly hopeless? How could I give up so easily on something we hadn't even started? Technically, I should be relieved that I'm reconsidering things so early, it might save me the heartache in the future. However, my current emotions were in turmoil, and I was unhappy with the idea of breaking it off with her.

The bed vibrated and I shifted to my side, digging my phone out from under my pillow. Curiosity took over my mind as I read the name on the display and I answered the call. "Hello?"

"Guess what," Bon spoke, but he didn't give me time to answer. "You're making due on that promise today."

My brows furrowed and I pushed myself up on my bed. "What are you talking about?"

He laughed, the sound slightly distorted through the speaker. "You have ten minutes to get your ass over here before I come to collect you myself. Wear something comfortable because you'll be here all day." There was a click and the line beeped a few times, signaling that he'd hung up on me. I shook my head and pulled the phone from my ear, staring at the device in surprise. He hadn't answered my question in the slightest, but as I pulled one of my long sleeves over my head, I realized his plan.

I sent a text message to Yukio as I exited our dorm, letting him know that I was being kidnapped for the day. It wasn't long after that I got a message back, but he'd only sent laughing emojis. I guessed he was going to be useless at getting me out of this situation. I pushed open the door to Bon's building, and I saw a few other's down in the commons. A few glanced in my direction, but most went back to their conversations. Thankfully, as time passed, people started to care less about the gossip that surrounded me. I knew I'd forever be known as a cutter, but at least it was no longer my most defining trait. I climbed the staircase, a bit surprised at the number of students still in the dorms. It was summer, after all. I had figured almost everyone had gone home, but I guess not everyone chose to do so. Unfortunately for those of us in cram school, we were required to take summer classes, so we were tethered to this academy for a few years. As I trod over to Bon's room, a smile played on my face at the thought. Previously, I believed that I only had days left to live, but now I could see a future. I could graduate and become an Exorcist. I could live normally, well, as normally as I could as a mentally ill, half-demon teenager.

I rose my hand to knock on the door, but it opened before I could touch it. Suguro spotted me and scoffed, "you're lucky, I was just about to hunt you down." I rolled my eyes and he shifted, ushering me inside.

I glanced around the room, noticing a lacking body. "Where's Renzo?"

Bon snorted, throwing himself onto his bed and grabbing the remote to the small television on the desk. "Probably bumping uglies with Moriyama-san."

I gasped, nearly choking on my saliva. "How can you be so vulgar and use honorifics in the same sentence? It doesn't sound right to slander her and be respectful at the same time." I moved over to Shima's bed and sat down on the edge, waiting as he pulled up a title screen.
