Neteyam's POV

Waking up from a delightful sleep, I felt the sun's rays caressing my skin as I slowly got out of bed. Today Azura was going to teach us about her clan's hunting techniques. Even if it was just for the day, I couldn't help but feel quite excited to be able to spend some time with her. Walking towards Lo'ak's bed, I tried to wake him up.

"Lo'ak we gotta leave. The hunting party must be waiting for us" I said shaking his body with both arms to make him open his eyes. "Leave me alone" he grunted and turned to the other side. Rolling my eyes, I increased the shaking. "Okay! I'll wake up. Why are you so persistent suddenly? It's not like you enjoy seeing Zygmunt's annoying face" Lo'ak complained.

"I just don't want to be late" I dismissed as I got up to pick the hunting materials. "Are you sure about that? Or is there any other reason in particular?". He looked straight at me with a playful smirk as he stood up and began collecting his wooden bow. "I already told you. I don't want to be late". Distracting myself with my arrows, I tried to evade his eyes. "So you are not excited to see a certain leader?", he came to my side bumping his shoulder with mine in a teasing manner while raising his eyebrows intermittently.

Looking away from him, I headed to the exit of our kelku. I didn't want to admit to him that there was the slightest possibility that I was enjoying my time with Olo'eykte too much. Besides, she is to be mated to her friend and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Not that I wanted to do something about it. "I don't know what you are talking about. Let's go or Zygmunt will leave without us". Going out with my hunting equipment, I waited for him to collect his things.

Lo'ak joined me and we started walking towards the clearing. I was grateful he had forgotten about our previous conversation, yet I was proven wrong when he decided to speak again. "You know, I think you and Azura would make an amazing couple", he grinned broadly as he said that. I felt my cheeks burning at the thought. "Don't be stupid. She wouldn't be interested in someone like me" I replied shaking my head so he would leave the subject alone.

"Why not? You are Neteyam the mighty warrior, aren't you?" he laughed as he grabbed me by the shoulders pressing on them. I smiled slightly at my brother's foolishness, "She has already chosen. Zygmunt will be her mate". He snorted and looked at me with a serious expression, "And you are going to tell me that she loves him? Come on Neteyam! That guy is a jerk, you are ten times better". "I do believe she loves him. Have you seen how close they are?".

Suddenly, Lo'ak stopped walking. I turned to see him staring at me with his eyebrows raised. "What?" I asked, "I just think you are delusional. You both can't take your eyes off each other every time you are in the same place. I bet anything that she isn't in love with him". Even if I wanted to believe him, I couldn't. Deep down, I knew I didn't stand a chance against Zygmunt and I had to accept it. "I wish you were right brother, but it won't ever happen" I told him with a displeased smile. Lo'ak gave up on trying to convince me and kept quiet the rest of the way.

We arrived at the clearing where the hunting party awaited us. From afar, I saw Azura talking with some of the elder members. Her homely nature seemed to charm anyone who surrounded her. Reaching the group, we greeted some of the members who were close to us. "Look who finally decided to join us" Zygmunt said sarcastically to emphasise his annoyance.

His statement caused Azura to notice our presence and right away she made her way towards us after saying goodbye. "Finally! I thought you wouldn't come today". She tried to get closer to us but Zygmunt grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to his side. At his action, the Olo'eykte looked at him bothered yet she remained by his side anyway.

I couldn't help but feel disappointed. If Zygmunt were to join us, I was sure he wouldn't leave her alone. "Should we leave?" she asked, looking at Zygmunt and then at us. "Sure, I hope we can be finished before the eclipse. Otherwise, you guys will be in charge of explaining to the clan why we are late" he stated and left.
