Neteyam's POV

I was peacefully sleeping in our marui when a sudden thundering noise woke me and my family up. As fast as we could we exited the marui and in front of us all we could see was chaos and destruction.

After four years the sky people had come back for revenge and this time they wanted to make sure that none of the Metkayina had the resources to fight back. My mother watched with sorrow how the clan's lands were being burned down just like they had done with hers. All that could be heard was the people's cries and the sound of the maruis crumbling down into the sea leaving no trace of their existence.

In a fast movement, my father started to collect all of our belongings and encourage my siblings and me to start doing the same. "Come on, we gotta get out of here", he exclaimed as he hung a bag full of our things on his back.

My mother took my sister in her arms and followed by Lo'ak and Kiri went in search of the Ikrans. As I was about to do the same my father called my name and looked me straight in the eyes."Doesn't matter what you see now, our family's safety always comes first. Understood?" "Yes, sir".

I ventured into the mayhem running as fast as I could, I looked around for my family in the crowd. Far from where I was standing, I saw my mother fighting against a group of avatars that were taking Tuk away, yet there was no sign of my other siblings.

Without thinking about it twice I headed towards the avatar holding my sister and jumped into his back making him lose his grip on Tuk. The avatar turned towards me and rushed over my neck grabbing it so tight that I could hardly breathe. Then he pushed me to the ground and rested his leg on my abdomen to prevent me from moving.

"You thought you could win against me? What a delusional kid" he said as he pulled out a gun. In the background, I could hear my youngest sister crying and begging the avatar to stop. My heart broke at the knowing that I couldn't do anything at the moment to comfort her.

"Colonel Quaritch is going to be very happy when I tell him that Jake Sully has lost two of his children" he tried to shoot me but I managed to move my head away before the bullet made contact with my forehead. I grabbed his arm pushing the gun away from my face and with all my strength I pulled it until he was close enough to headbutt him. The avatar fell to the ground so I took advantage of the moment and run to my sister to check if she was fine.

When I reached her she quickly hugged me as tight as she could, "Neteyam" she said between cries while hardening her grip on my neck."Shhh, it's okay Tuk. You Know I will always be there to protect you". Stroking her hair I whispered into her ear "We have to find our family and get somewhere safe. Can you be brave for me?" "Mmhm" she affirmed without letting go of me "Okay then, let's go".

I took her into my arms and searched around for my family. The more time passed the denser the smoke became making it nearly impossible to find anybody that could help us find our parents. All of a sudden I recognised my brother's voice screaming for help, when I was close enough I saw the reason for his desperate shouts.

Tsireya lay on the floor with a bullet wound on the upper side of her arm as Lo'ak held it tight to stop the bleeding. "She needs help, the injury won't stop bleeding" he looked at me without knowing what to do next. "Tuk go get the largest seaweed you can find and come back as fast as you can" "Okay" she said as she went towards the sea. "Lo'ak go find the others so that father and mother can assist Tsireya before the bleeding gets worst" "But Neteyam, I can't leave her" he complained "Do you want her dead? Leave before I change my mind and take you and Tuk to safety leaving Tsireya behind". After hearing this, Lo'ak went looking for our parents leaving me with Tsireya as we waited for Tuk.
