2. Rubin

I was in her house, waiting for her to arrive. I opened the door with my key that her father gave me but her door was already unlocked, my stomach dropped. I ran inside "ARIANNA?!" I yelled but there was no answer, she wasn't home. I ran upstairs and her room was a mess, the window was opened and then I heard the click of a gun, but I also could smell her perfume. I told her that her father sent me yet she didn't seem to believe me, she even checked my phone. And my code was her birthday, that's what I do when I have a new client, I get a new phone every time I get a new client to prevent anyone from tracking me.

She checked my phone, but she didn't put her gun down right away, I put my hands down and she lowered the gun. I told her why I was here and she seemed.. Almost surprised anyone would actually go against her fathers orders to protect her, it's my job. She's my job and my responsibility.

I was sitting there, and I couldn't take my eyes off her. She looked so scared but she was trying to hide it, she told me to stop staring I pulled my phone out and I called my sister Lena. She was freaking out, I told her everything was fine and she relaxed. I told her to just go to bed and I hung up

After we dealt with all that I checked the house again, no doors were broken, no windows smashed, so someone actually unlocked the door and came in. But who would do that.. just to ruin her room. No other room in the house was in disarray, only hers meaning whoever did this, knew what they were looking for. My question is.. did someone find it?

I stood near her window and I could tell she wanted me to leave, but she also knew I can't do that. "Can't you just.. I don't know. Leave me alone for now?" She asked blatantly "I can't.. Jobs orders" I replied coldly. She sighed. She's tired. "Look I get you have to do your job, but you can do that outside, you have a car. Go sleep in there" She demanded and I'm not gonna push her, so I did.

I kept my car in a place where I could see her front yard, the side of her house that had the side door and her room window. I stared up at the window as she turned the light on, I sat there.. In silence before my phone rang. It was one of my boys, I picked it up and I told them I wasn't available for a while. I couldn't do any more jobs.. Then I hung up and her light was off. I lied down in my driver seat and next thing I knew, I fell asleep.

I sprung back awake to the sound of my alarm and I quickly shut it off before groaning in pain, my back was stiff, my neck was kinked, everything hurt. But, I got up, did all the early morning things from my car and got ready. Just as I was about to text my boys, Arianna came out and once she saw me.. Her smile dropped. "You're still here?' She scoffed "Get used to it" I replied leaning forward and she rolled her eyes getting in her car.

She ran a few errands, I kept my distance but there was one thing that threw me off... this guy. When she arrived back at the record shop he was outside, like he was waiting for her. I wasn't informed that ANYONE was seeing or "dating" Arianna, but she seemed happy so I just agreed to myself that I'd keep an eye on him. He looked.. Off though. The rugged black jeans, the slick brown hair, the messed shirt, he didn't look like he was at all prepared to see her. He looked like he had a "special night" last night but not with her.

Arianna eventually left and I followed her as always, she went straight home. I had some other work to take care of, a few calls and a few emails so I did and before I knew it, it was dark. I wanted to check on her, I wanted to see if she was okay, but I didn't. Her light was off indicating she was in bed, and so I prepared myself for another back aching night sleep.

I woke up about an hour later, I was tossing and turning and Arianna's light was on so I messaged her "everything okay?" I messaged and looked back up at her room, my phone vibrated and i immediately check it, she replied "can't sleep" I sighed and messaged her again "do you want any help? I can help you fall asleep" I smiled to myself when she replied "no, i'll be okay. thank you though Rubin, really" I messaged her and said goodnight before calling my mother

"Kamusta" She answered "Mama?" I replied. She asked how I was, I told her I was okay but really I was exhausted, I talked to her for a few minutes before she went to bed. I gazed up at Arianna's window again, her light was off so I lied down and finally fell asleep
