34. Rubin

"RUBIN I'LL BE BACK IN A MINUTE" She shouted "OKAY" I replied, I finished up in the kitchen as I was leaving the kitchen there was a knock at the door "COMIN" I yelled, I ran to the door and opened it "Mr. Gallo" I greeted "Hi, I need to discuss something with you. May I come in?" He requested "Yes of course. I didn't realize you would be stopping by, I would've been in more appropriate attire" I stated closing the door "That's alright, I do apologize for showing up unannounced" he said "It's fine. What can I do for you?" I asked 

"Arianna hasn't been answering my calls and I am getting worried. I'm just here to ask you if she was alright, god knows she won't tell me" He explained "Well, she is okay. She recently had an issue with a friend. She's upstairs right now" I heard Arianna's door open and saw Sam walking down the stairs, Arianna behind her. "You know if I'm really that desperate, maybe I'll just use your boyfriend here for some dick too" she gestured to me, then walked out. Mr. Gallo looked furious, "Boyfriend?" He asked, "Sir I can explain-" I started 

"Arianna what did I tell you, no attachments!" he shouted "Dad I-" she stammered "You what? Huh? What's your excuse Arianna?" He exclaimed "You act like I've done this a million times, so I got close to one of my bodyguards, so what? And don't you DARE say that it can cause his judgement to be obscure and he will be unable to focus on his "missions" cause i'll be thinking of me or some bullshit like that" She shouted

"Mr. Gallo-" "Don't start" He placed his hand up in front of my face "We are heading to my office now to deal with this as for you Arianna. I expected better from you. Rubin let's go" He instructed "But- ""NOW. I will call Will to fill in" he left the house as I put my shoes on "Rubin.." she sighed "It'll be okay. No matter what he does I am not leaving you. I love you, I don't care what he has to say. I'm yours, but I have to go baby. I love you and I'll be back, I promise" I finished leaving the house, she was scared and sad and furious all at once.

I got in my car and drove to Mr. Gallo's building, I headed to his office and he shut the door "What were you thinking?" he asked "Sir, you have to understand-" "Understand what? That you deliberately disobeyed me, that you disobeyed a direct order. Dammit Rubin I told YOU no attachments let alone Arianna. I'm not going to say that your judgement will be clouded or anything like that but. You saw what happened to Marcus" He stated "Don't bring my brother into this. He guarded his WIFE for six years, and you saw how their relationship grew, you saw the engagement ring and hell you were there for the wedding. Their relationship was fine, what's to say we can't do the same?" I argued.

Mr. Gallo sighed "Look where that got Marcus, I do believe that day his judgement was clouded because of troubles he had with his wife I am NOT gonna bury another one of my men. I always knew you guys were close okay, the way you two act around each other.. but making an official call like that... if something like that got out to the public it would put the biggest target on both your backs" He fought "From this point on you are removed from being Arianna's bodyguard" He stated "What?" I was shocked "Will can take over, he knows her well enough-" "Not as well as me, Ari needs me" I fought "Rubin-" "You haven't seen what I've seen her go through, taking me off is gonna kill her" I said "It's for her own good and yours" " I'm sorry but you're gonna have to kill me to get me off her list. You haven't seen what I have seen. I love her more than anything, I would die for her, and no that won't cloud my judgement, even in the worst of times" I explained "Rubin, you even fighting me on this just proves how this is effecting you" he stated 

"I love her and we have been through enough to prove to you that my judgement will not be clouded. I've gone missing, been in the hospital, lost my brother, and STILL I made sure that she was safe because THAT's my job. Just seeing the severity of what we've been through, the Milo bullshit, me getting shot and nearly fucking dying, my brother ending up dead, all of those things are just proof that I know what I'm doing" I fought "I do understand that you do know what you're doing and know what I'm doing. What I am doing is looking after one of the most loyal men on my team and my daughter. I am not gonna say that I would do it to protect her as I always do, I would do it to insure both of your safeties in the future" he paused

"But if you believe in your heart that this won't affect you in any way or put Arianna in any danger then ... I won't stop you. Just as long as she's safe" He stated "Sir I know my limits and if I feel something is possibly getting in my way of work, I will step back and ensure I am ready before taking on a new mission. I am not willing to risk myself or Arianna, ever" I insured "I will be watching after you.... From a distance" he reminded me and I nodded. "Can I go?" I asked and he nodded "yes" I stood and walked towards the door "Rubin" he said and I turned around "I can see that you do truly love her, and I do appreciate how much you have done for her" he stated and I nodded before walking out. I called Will and told him to leave, and that I would be home soon.

When I arrived his car was gone and I parked in my usual spot, I began walking up the driveway when I heard the front door open, I looked up and saw Arianna standing in the doorway. I smiled at her before making my way to her, once I got to her I wrapped my arms around her waist as tight as I could and she did the same around my neck "I love you" she said and i smiled "I love you more" I pulled back and kissed her, she ran her hands through my hair. As I began to pull away she pulled me back, I was a bit surprised but I kissed her back anyway.

She pulled back and I smiled "What did he say?" She asked "Well it took a minute, but he tried to remove me from being your guard, and Will would take over. But I explained how we've already been through so much that it already proves we know what we're doing" i stated and she nodded "he only said he'd be watching over us, from a distance every once in a while just to make sure I keep up on my word" I explained and she hugged me "I was so scared. I thought I lost you" She said "I feel like you've said that too many times now, and every time I tell you" i pulled away and looked her in the eye

"I'm not going anywhere"
