Banashi's chilling in her dorm on an early Saturday morning, on her phone after a long week of school. She doesn't have a roommate as she desperately needs her alone time every day. She gets a text from someone, Missy, a 'friend' of hers. Banashi only considers her a loose friend, finding her useful sometimes with her popularity. She pulls up the text message as Missy starts sending more.
Are you free today?
I need you to come to Rio's
at 8am
We gotta hang outBanashi rolls her eyes with a smirk, sitting up and responding to her.
yeah, 'kay, I'll be there
Missy sends back a simple smiley, and Banashi turns her phone off and puts it on her bed side table. She stretches her arms above her hands and starts getting ready for a day out. She puts on a tight, black, sleeveless shirt, a pink scarf around her waist, basic tight jeggings, and a short green cardigan. She gives her face a wash and tidies up her long hair. Then she checks the time. 7:45 am. Banashi grabs her leather messenger bag and heads out to meet Missy.
Banashi gets there quickly, just before 8, and waits for the bright blue haired girl. She sends Missy a quick 'I'm here' message, which gets read, but not responded to. She sits on a ledge and just looks through social media on her phone, humming to herself. She hears footsteps and looks up, assuming it's finally Missy, as 8 am has rolled around, but to her surprise, she's greeted by a pair of pink eyes.
"Oh, hey Nate" Banashi says, leaning back into her arm and giving him a slight smile. "What'cha doin'? Everett take you out for lunch?" She teases Nate for his friendship with Everett, as the two seem to just drag each other out and about sometimes. Nate snarls at her slightly.
"Nope. Not Everett, Missy. She was very adamant that I come here at eight." Nate had looked away, out to see if Missy would be here soon, so he didn't notice Banashi's eyes widen at his explanation.
"Missy dragged you out here too?" She asks, confused and annoyed. "Did she tell you I'd be here? I didn't know you'd be." The stressed controller looks back at the girl, eyes squinted with questions.
"I wasn't told you'd be here." He says bluntly.
"Alright," She starts, mumbling, "She's got some explaining to do."
"That she does. She better be here soon too." Banashi nods in agreement. Nate sits next to the grey eyed girl on the ledge, keeping an eye out for the tricky cheerleader while Banashi texts her.
"She's not responding, she never doesn't respond, is she okay?" She stresses, slightly worried, before she hears her notification jingle. The both of them look down at her phone as she pulls up the message.
Have fun on your date~
The stressed and unstable fall silent, staring at the message. Banashi eventually speaks up
"Did she just set us up on a date?" She asks, already knowing the answer, but just needing to vocalise the question. "We've only known each other for a few weeks, what the hell?!" Nate doesn't respond, standing up and brushing himself off.
"I'm leaving." He states, but barely gets a step away when Banashi stands too
"Hey, we can still hang out. Let's get some food, I'll pay." She places her hand on her hip, waiting for Nate's response as he turns back to her. He loosens his muscles and tosses his arms up in a slight shrug.
"Yeah, fine. I've already the time set aside"
"Aight, let's grab a table then."
The two spend some time together, having lunch together before heading back to their dorms. Neither of them exactly call it a date, but it definitely helped them feel more comfortable around the other. It wasn't the last time the two went out together for a friendly hang out, Banashi dragged Nate out a couple times when either she or he were overly stressed about something.
