Nate and Lynn walk into the meeting room at about the same time, lost in a conversation about a teacher's behaviour. Everett trudged in after the two, fixing his scarf around his neck. The room was just about as unstable as the outside world, if not slightly warmer. Everett sits at the table and curls up slightly, rubbing his cheeks in annoyance.
"Just make sure something is done about him, if you can. The school never listens to student complaints about staff, so you're my best bet." Nate gives Lynn a nod, then turns to sit with Everett
"I'll be sure to let the headmaster know." Lynn says, opening up his laptop and silently typing away. The three sit in near silence for a while, besides the sound of Everett's swinging chair and constant scarf adjustments.
"Can we stop coming so early? It won't hurt to come on time, or even a little late." Everett starts his complaining, as always. Nate sighs while Lynn ignores him.
"I'm not coming after Shiloh, he's always perfectly on time, so I should be early. '' He responds, strict and blunt. Everett makes his usual response, rolling his eyes and shutting up.Loud arguing, one sided from the sound of it, is heard just outside of the room. The nurse's face scrunches in silent concern, but his eyes are kept on his laptop. Just as the time rolls around, Banashi stomps in, looking rather annoyed. The culprit of her annoyance follows her in.
"I told on him to the teacher!" The freckled boy calls out, looking upset. Banashi turns and snaps at him, pointing her finger at him while gripping the chair in front of her.
"That doesn't change the fact that he fucking hit me! I would have ripped his fucking arm off if you didn't go defend him!" Her voice was sharp and loud, filling the room and drawing everyone's attention to her. She nearly flinches at the sound of her own words, her muscles tensing up slightly. Lynn stands up and shuts his laptop gently.
"Banashi, Shiloh, please settle down." He softly asks, gaining control of his students. Banashi takes a deep breath and sits next to Everett, crossing her arms on the table and resting her head against them. Shiloh takes a seat far away from the girl, not wanting to aggravate her more, and Everett scoots his chair a few centimetres away. Bae makes his way in after she calms down, sitting next to Shiloh, his face holding a worried expression as he gazes over the unstable sceptic and optimistic phoney. Walking to the members, the group supervisor speaks up again.
"Alright, now that we're all here, we can start the meeting. I had an idea for us all to just do some colouring, as some of us have been pretty stressed recently." Lynn's voice was soft as usual, proposing the idea. The member's opinions quickly shuffled in.
"Sure! That sounds fun!"
"That's a wonderful idea, sunshine."
"That sounds lame."
"Eugh, 'kay then"
"I'm not stressed."
Lynn takes the votes as mostly positive and smiles.
"Alright, I'll go print out some colouring pages." He says before leaving the room. Banashi lifts her head up off her arms and rubs her slightly damp eyes."Better be something interesting at least, like a dragon or something." She comments, wiping her cheeks and crossing her arms on the table, slouching over as usual.
"Ooh yeah! I like dragons." Shiloh uselessly chimes in, tapping his hands on the table.
"It's probably just going to be some flowers, or generic patterns." Bae states with his usual smirk. The girl in the group groans in disappointed agreement.
"Colouring for me is just stressful sometimes, trying to concentrate on one small thing for so long. And you can't really erase any mistakes." Banashi takes Everett's role and complains. It's not long before Lynn walks back in, sheets of paper in his hands.
"I got three simple colouring pages and three more intricate designs" He says, placing the pages on the desks. Banashi, Everett and Shiloh reach for the simpler design, some basic flowers and trees, while Bae and Nate take the pages full of detailed patterns and designs. Shiloh and Lynn both place coloured pencils and pens on the table. Banashi uses her own coloured pens, really fancy ones. Everyone silently starts colouring, some taking their time to be neat, and some - Well, one - unable to care less about how it looks.Banashi, bothered by the silence as usual, speaks up.
"Anyone else here had a rumour spread about them? Or am I just unlucky?" She asks, not looking up from her paper until she finishes colouring a leaf.
"People recently have been suspecting me of not being human." Bae simply replies, glancing up at the girl as he responds to her. This gets a curious eyebrow raise out of the grey eyed girl.
"I wanna know the story behind that, if there is one." She snickers slightly, raising her hand to her mouth and resting her elbow on the desk. Bae gently places his pencil down, being sure to make it stay, and straightens his back again, but Everett cuts him off before he can even open his mouth.
"He looks like a demon. Fucking red eyes and black hair." He scoffs, rolling his pencil out of his hand. He crosses his arms behind his head and leans in his chair, then notices Banashi's confused smile and squinted eyes. "What?"
"Black hair seems like a pretty normal thing. And I use to know a whole family of people with red eyes. Honestly I think they're cool, aren't they like, really rare?" Banashi goes to explain, sceptical over Everett's answer.
"It's not just because I look like this, starfish," Bae starts, gesturing his hand towards the two other speakers, "It's the fact I'm nothing like my direct family."
"Yeah that too." The douchey moron rolls his eyes at Bae's correction.
"You've seen his family?" Banashi questions, leaning over the table and looking to her side at Everett. Her gaze falls on Nate for a second, gripping the pencil and pressing a bit hard on the paper as he scowls silently. Her eyes are drawn quickly back to the boy beside her.
"Nah, he dropped his family photo. Everyone else had different shades of purple eyes and dark hair, then there was him." Eve points at Bae. "The fucking Antichrist."
"Huh. That true? You don't look like your family?" The unstable sceptic questions, looking him over as she imagines what the photo looked like.
"That is mostly correct, dear. I take after my grandparents." The patronising sarcastic explains shortly, a soft smirk turned on his lips. Banashi lets out a slight chuckle.
"Interesting. I've had an issue with not looking like family, actually." Banashi starts, putting the lid on her abandoned marker. "I mean, looked just like my parents from what I remember, besides whatever happened here," She gestures to her bright pink-red fringe, "But my aunt, who I actually lived with, only has the same pink hair colour to link us."
"Your pink hair's natural?" Shiloh suddenly perks up to say, looking at the other grey eyed member.
"I assumed it was dyed too." Bae comments, now intrigued.
"Yeah, it's natural. Neither of my parents had this, but pink hair was a thing on my mum's side. For some reason it just skipped her, like your appearance did your family, Bae." Banashi links her hands together, placing her chin on top her fingers."Could you guys stop talking now?" Nate growls out, angry for no apparent reason. Everett rolls his eyes once again.
"We aren't bothering you." he remarks, barely giving a glance to his friend.
"We're supposed to be silently colouring." said friend argues, glaring up at the boys, but avoiding the girl's eyes.
"We can talk if we want to." Banashi retorts, crossing her arms. Nate remains silent to her, until the next person speaks.
"Banashi's right, and Lynn never said we couldn't." Shiloh frowns.
"Banashi should be with the troublemakers, what she says shouldn't be listened to!" The stressed controller snaps, raising his voice and causing Banashi to flinch, her muscles tensing as his words ring in everyone's ears.
"Nate." Banashi states his name, intending to quiet him as usual, but he ignores her again. She realises what he's doing finally and slouches again, looking aside and muttering. "Jeeze, fuck you too."
"I think that's enough for today. You may all leave." Lynn, the saving grace he is, swoops in to dismiss everyone. Nate shoves himself out of his chair and stomps off while the other four fall silent, for different reasons, but all relating to the current situation. Banashi stands up, leaving without a word. Shiloh goes to follow her and try to cheer her up, but Bae takes his arm and leads him elsewhere. Everett stands up after everyone else and goes to find Nate."Dude, wait up!" Everett calls out, catching up to Nate's striding. He has to try a lot harder than usual to walk with him this time. "What's gotten into you? Even I'm not that bad!" Everett starts questioning.
"Banashi needs to formally apologise. I told Bae to tell me when she does and she hasn't yet." The stressed controller mutters, just loud enough for the douchey moron to hear.
"You're still on that? That was months ago, give her a break! It was just the fucking antichrist, and even he said he was fine!" Everett starts fighting for Banashi, looking at Nate with a scowl.
"She hasn't made up for it yet! If I let one person off the hook, then it'll be unfair!" Nate's voice is loud and powerful, probably louder than he thinks it is. The two end up arguing over it all the way to their dorm, where Nate splits off to go find something to do.
