The way to the party was silent, uncomfortably silent. Evelynn felt drained, she didn't know if she could handle the noisy people and Simon's presence in that moment.

She felt like all she knew about herself before was a lie, like a reality she made up herself to make herself better, and she needed Simon to wake her back to reality.

She needed him if she wanted to be safe. She needed him, and that was final.

But she didn't want to believe it. She wanted to keep living in her fake reality, at least a little longer.

The bar was filled with people, the music was loud, facts that pissed off Simon since the first step inside.

His hand grabbed Evelynn's waist, pulling her closer to him.

"Don't go too far from me, I don't want anything to happen." He whispered, his lips slightly touching her ear, sending shivers down her spine.

She pressed her lips together, nodding quickly. All her plans of having fun were ruined.

But who was him to boss her around? They weren't together. She didn't have to do anything he said. She wasn't supposed to obey him like a puppy.

Jasmine quickly found her way to her, hugging Evelynn tightly.

"I'm so glad you made it! You look gorgeous, girl!" She said, as she didn't seem to aknlowlege Simon's presence. "Come on, let's get a drink!"

Jasmine grabbed her hand, dragging the tall girl after her, Simon only walking behind, staring down at the back of Evelynn's head.

She couldn't see it, but she felt his eyes burning through her skull, making her feel guilty of something she haven't even done yet.

"I've seen so many hot guys here, I'm sure you'll have so much fun tonight."

"Actually... I've came with Simon here." She said, making Jasmine's head turn quickly to face her.

"You did what?! Weren't you the one that kept saying that you wanna have fun and don't get in a relationship yet?"

"Well yeah...but on a second thought..."

"I can't believe you!" She said, her voice getting louder as she handed Evelynn a vodka shot.

The girl quickly accepted it, drinking it all from a single, quick movement, making the girl let out a groan from the burning sensation.

"I suppose I just want to feel safe. There are a lot of people here, who knows how many weirdos or freaks are here."

"This haven't stopped you before!"

"She wants to feel safe, don't fucking ask her something she clearly answered you already. She doesn't have to explain herself." Simon scolded, his eyes as venomous as ever.

"Simon, is alright, really."

"Oh listen here you damn mountain! I don't want a fucking man to interrupt me while talking to my damn best friend. Go and be an asshole somewhere else!"

"Just...let us alone please.." Evelynn whispered, letting her hand on his chest.

Simon stared down to Jasmine for a little longer, before walking away from the two girls, his eyes remaining fixed on Evelynn.

He couldn't hear anything they were talking about, but he noticed her friend rolling her eyes at Evelynn's responses, which didn't please him at all. He was going to have a talk about her the following day.

"You know what? Let's just go dancing. I'm not in the mood to argue over a guy with you."

Evelynn turned her head to look for Simon, but Jasmine just dragged her away, pulling her to the middle of the bar, area that everyone kept clear, improvising a dance stage.

A few more other teens and young adults were dancing to the rhythm, screaming the lyrics of Can't remember to forget you, like there was no tomorrow.

Simon's absence, well not absence, but the fact that he wasn't so close to her, made Evelynn feel released, relaxing and finally allowing her to enjoy her night.

As an experienced dancer, Evelynn and her balletic moves of her thin, fit body were noticed by a bunch of guys.

Simon hated the attention she was getting, but Evelynn was loving it. Jasmine took her hand, dancing with her, her body smoothly bending on the rhythm. She was a great dancer and a beautiful, desirable woman, and yet, all eyes were on the barista.

A braver man even approached the girls, trying to blend in by executing the most basic, simple dance moves someone could imagine. All he really wanted was to talk to them, and maybe get one of their phone numbers.

"This place's cool, isn't it?" He asked, seeming the best way of starting a conversation with the two.

"Hm? Yeah, this party's great!" Evelynn responded, her lips curling up into a wide smile, looking up at the brunette man.

"Mhm, the music is better than I've expected too." Jasmine added, her attention turning to the man that was talking to her friend.

Simon couldn't stay still and watch the interaction, so quickly enough he found his way to them, grabbing Evelynn's hand, making her let out a surpised groan as her body tensed up.

"Oh Simon, it's you." She said, her body relaxed quickly.

"I wanna talk go you, can we go out for a moment?" He asked, his voice calm.

Jasmine sighed, but nodded, letting her friend to leave as she kept talking to the guy that approached them a few minutes ago.

The music was dull outside the bar, making it easier for Evelynn to hear the anger in Simon's words.

"The fuck do you think you're doing?"

"What are you talking about? I was just dancing and having fun."

"With a random guy all over you?" He asked, rising his voice.

But this time it didn't work.

"You're not my fucking boyfriend, you can't fucking stop me from having fun Simon!"

"Oh is that so?"

His eyes got darker, looking at her with anger she haven't seen before. In a blink of an eye, his fingers clenched around her untied hair, grabbing hardly onto it.

She groaned in pain and surprise, widening her eyes at the violent act. She felt her scalp aching, and he didn't seem he was going to let go anytime soon.

Instead, he pulled her after him, as he started walking away from the bar. She just tagged along, as it would have been more painful to be stubborn.

"Let go of me!" She yelled, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Where are we going?"

"We're fuckin going home, Evelynn."
