Evelynn didn't change a word with Simon since the party. Every single time when he came to the café she refused to aknlowlege his presence.

He thought it was only going to happen for a day.

But a day turned in two. And two days turned into a week.

Week in which he grew desperate to catch her attention. He tried everything, he apologized, he got nothing in response, of course. He brought her chocolate and flowers. Simon was disappointed to find the bouquet in the trash can.

"Evelynn please talk to me." His accent filled the air, as she kept making the frappe a teenager ordered.

He didn't get a response, he didn't know what he even expected. She was determined not to talk to him, she sticked to idea like her life depended on it.

"Oh come on, at least tell me why are you so damn mad!"

"Here you go, your total will be 4,6 pounds. Would you like to pay cash or by card?"

"Card please."

"Evelynn you can't just ignore me like this. I won't leave you alone until you talk to me."

"Here you go...have a great day!" Evelynn greeted the girl, waving at her as she walks away.

Simon kept talking and begging, as all the young woman did was to turn her back, cleaning around for the next drinks she was going to make for her customers.

The truth was that she felt kind of bad about giving Simon the cold shoulder, but the feeling disappeared as soon as she remembered the pain she dealt with when he grabbed her hair.

Nothing and no one could make her talk to Simon anytime soon.

And probably he noticed that.

"Fuck... I got to go back to work, I'll be back here as soon as I am done, just wait for me."

As soon as she heard the door closing behind him she finally turned around, letting out a loud sigh, closing her eyes for a moment.

"Fuckin' 'ell..."

"Is this the guy?" A man's voice said, and Evelynn recognized him.

Iced Americano in week days, hot white chocolate with coconut syrup in weekends. He was the man that joined her conversation a week ago when she was talking to Jasmine.

"Yup, he's the asshole."

"But wasn't he an amazing guy last week? What happened?"

"I am honestly not sure what happened to him either. I guess jealousy issues, extreme jealousy issues."

"Why don't you talk this with him though? He seems like he cares about you. I see him daily trying to talk to you."

"I don't know if I can forgive him yet. He pissed me off."

"Of course he did, but communication is very important too."

"Common sense is also important, and he clearly has none."

"I don't know what happened, dear, but you are both adults, you should both know how to deal with these problems, in a good way. And I mean it as both a father of two girls, and as a customer that has to listen to him beg."

She looked at him finish his coffee then leave. She realized his begs were going to bother her customers, but she didn't want to give in. Not yet.

For the following week he didn't show up anymore. She thought for a while moment that he just gave up, but she knew what he worked. Even though he didn't tell her who he really was, she knew the truth.

But while he was out there, doing whatever a person working for the special forces does, she did the exact same thing: attend courses and make coffee.

She couldn't lie though, she was worried by his absence, and she didn't even know why. She knew he was a capable person.

Actually...

He wasn't her boyfriend, so why would she worry anyway? It wasn't her business.

But that didn't change the way she felt...

Her relief was when, on friday, the door opened, and she heard her name being called by a male's voice.

It wasn't Simon this time.

Instead, she was greeted by the Scotsmans wide smile and his heavy accent. Her heart skipped a beat, and in a blink of an eye she was next to him, her arms tightly wrapped around his waist.

"Soap! Holy fucking shit! I haven't seen you in ages!" She exclamed excitedly.

"I'm happy to see you too lassie." He said with a chuckle, holding her for a moment. "I came to actually talk to you about Ghost actually, he'll be here soon, I wanna say everything before he shows up though."

"If it's about the fact that he was a jerk at the party spear me."

"Yeah...I assumed you knew he was Simon."

"I've seen his dog tag. For how important he is for the team, he's fucking reckless. And a fucking asshole."

Soap shook his head, smiling lightly. He knew she was upset, she had all the rights. Ghost was always an asshole, but he was his friend anyway. And he cared about him. Considered him his brother.

"Well you see Eve, he went through a lot of shit."

"A lot of people go through a lot of shit."

"Yes but he went through actual shit. He's been tortured, almost killed a bunch of times, kidnapped, his family was killed. His job is not easy. In 2012, after an unsuccessful mission, in which his whole team died and he almost died himself, he was diagnosed with depression and PTSD. You know what PTSD is right?"

"I do, yeah."

"Well, that means you know it acts up and its different for everyone. Well he developed a personality disorder. It's not really bipolarity, but it's also not double personality. Well it's almost like a double personality, but both personalities are still the same persona."

Evelynn remainrd silent for a moment. Her chest felt heavy and her heart dtarted pounding against her chest painfully. She couldn't say anything, she couldn't think of anything appropriate to say on the moment. All she knew was that she felt had for Simon.

She opened her mouth to say something, but the bell rang, announcing a new customer arriving.

It was Simon.
