Chapter 3 ~ Nightmare

I sat straight up in my bed, gasping for breath. Ice meowed and moved to the end. I looked at my clock on the bedside table. It read 12:00 AM. I heard something from my window. I quickly turned my head towards it. It sounded like pebbles hitting the glass. I got out of bed, walked over, and sat down pulling up the blinds of the middle pane. I looked down and saw Kit. He waved. I smiled and raced down the stairs and out of the door. I rounded the house to meet him when I heard a growl behind me. I froze dead in my tracts. I saw Kit come around the corner and another low growl stopped him. We stared at each other for a while. I turned completely around and faced the woods. I heard Kit walk up behind me. His hands went around my waist but over my arms, pinning me to him. I gasped as I saw a wolf with honey eyes approach us slowly, growling. Kit moved my hair and kissed my neck. I sat straight up in my bed, gasping for breath. Ice meowed and moved to the end. I looked at my clock on the bedside table. It read 12:00 AM. I expected to hear pebbles hitting my window, but silence filled the pitch dark room. The only things I could see were the numbers on my clock and my cats eyes.

I sighed, knowing sleep evaded me. I stepped out of bed, the cold hard wood floor stinging my feet. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen to get a glass of water then went into the living room and sat on the couch. I tuned on the TV and the first movie that came on was Twilight. I looked at the movie in disgust and changed the channel. The next movie to pop up was an old black and white version of the Wolfman. It came to the part where he was in the woods, changing forms under the full moon. A howl pierced the room, coming from the TV, but frightening me so much I looked around to see that I was still alone. I would have laughed at the transformation, but instead I started to think about my dream, or nightmare I should say.

The last thing I remember before waking up was the wolf-man running through the woods and the next, after I opened my eyes, were the credits. I yawned and stretched. I grabbed the remote and turned off the TV then headed back upstairs to go back to bed. I decided not to tell my mother about the nightmare unless I had it again..

(A/N: this is a short filler chapter. i know it was kind of boring but it will get better, i promise :))
