later on in the day hongjoong went down the street to give seonghwa back his money from yesterday. he felt bad that he just ran off like that so he was gonna leave another tip for him directly.
hongjoong looked through the window to see if seonghwa was there but frowned when he only saw wooyoung sitting there alone.
wooyoung seemed to take notice of the red headed man and waved for him to come in.
san trialed behind hongjoong. he wanted to visit wooyoung in the later hours when they werent busy. something about wooyoung captivated san, but he couldn't seem to find out what it was exactly.
the two boys walked in and took a seat on the counter in front of wooyoung.
"is seonghwa here?" hongjoong questioned while taking a seat in front of the counter.
wooyoung shook his head and made finger quotes "he went on a date," he smirked.
hongjoongs smile quickly turned into a frown, but replaced it with a fake smile.
"oh alright," hongjoong said and looked down at his shoes.
wooyoung quickly took note of that. he smirked to himself and pretended to work on the screen in front of him.
"well, what time do you get off later?" san butted in, making wooyoung flustered with the sudden question.
"well... i get off at 9," wooyoung stuttered out.
"perfect, can i buy you a coffee?" san asked and then giggled at seeing wooyoungs expression. "i literally work at a coffee shop," he said knowingly.
"i know I'm just messing with you, do you want to talk over drinks though?" san leaned forward and placed his head on his palm. wooyoung suddenly grew bolder and leaned forward on the counter as well, "only if you pay for the drinks," he smirked.
san chuckled before nodding, "of course, i asked so I'm paying," san slyly grinned.
"im gonna throw up," hongjoong said with a look of disgust on his face. san and wooyoung laughed at his grim expression.
"im serious i cant handle you two flirting," hongjoong said fake gagging and getting up.
"well see you two later, don't forget to use protection," hongjoong said waving the pair off and walking out the door.
"he's such a grandpa I swear he doesn't know better jokes," san snapped and sighed, slapping a hand over his forehead in disbelief. wooyoung giggled at him and glanced at the clock.
8:03
wooyoung frowned before contemplating.
"what are you thinking about in that pretty head of yours?" san said snapping wooyoung out his thoughts.
"well it's pretty early, but it's a slow day, so I can close early today," wooyoung said before his eyes widened, "never mind seonghwa will kill me," he cried.
"he doesn't have to know," san said simply.
"no, you don't get it that man is scary," wooyoung said putting and emphasis on the last word.
"how? he looks like an angel with his pink hair," san pouted. wooyoung shook his head, "don't let his looks deceive you he's very scary," wooyoung said and shivered at the thought of an angry seonghwa.
san giggled and nodded at wooyoungs words.
"you know," wooyoung started and paused before continuing, "you really aren't so scary." sans jaw dropped and gasped dramatically.
"me?" san pointed to himself, "mean? how could you think of me that way," san said in a fake hurt voice.
wooyoung laughed and shook his head, "that's not what I meant. it's just that you look really intimidating. not in a bad way, and I don't mean to stereotype, but it's just the tattoos and the blonde mullet," wooyoung trailed off.
"i get it, i can be perceived that way, but once you get to know me im completely the opposite. ask hongjoong!" san beamed. wooyoung broke out in a smile, he wanted to reach over and squeeze the others cheeks but he barley knew the guy.
"well what would you like to drink?" wooyoung said tying the apron behind his back.
"surprise me," san said smugly.
wooyoung rolled his eyes playfully and got to work.
wooyoung eventually finished preparing the drink and handed it over to San.
"what's this?" san asked swirling the straw mixing the mixture in the cup.
"it's an espresso frappe with sweet vanilla foam at the bottom, it reminds me of you since you have a dark exterior but on the inside you're really sweet," wooyoung answered.
san felt his cheeks heat up, nobody had really been nice to him and treated him as an equal. the whole reason why him and his friends moved to a smaller town is because of the mistreatment they all received.
people perceived them as cold hearted rebels, making people spit smart remarks at them thinking the boys wouldn't care.
they were human, they felt. their appearance was only a small portion of their true identity.
"can i hug you?" san asked quietly, catching wooyoung off guard.
"ew no go away," wooyoung said jokingly. san frowned and looked down at his coffee. wooyoung panicked and started waving his hands: "no! i was just joking come here!" wooyoung went to the other side of the counter and stretched his arms open.
san gladly walked into his arms. he had a tight but gentle grip on wooyoung. wooyoung had his arms loosely around sans waist, taking note of how small it really was.
the two stayed like that for a moment before pulling away with flushed faces.
the two boys eventually went back to wooyoungs place to hangout more. they definitely got closer in those small hours.
eventually, it was time for san to go back home. the two boys didn't live far from each other as it was a small town. wooyoung watched from his window seeing san drive off in his car.
wooyoung sat back down on his bed with a huff and smiled. he dropped backwards with his arms spread out as well as a grin across his face.
