It was late at night as you got off work at 10:30pm due to a last minute meeting scheduled with your boss. You wanted to inform your fiancé that you were going to come home late but as your luck would have it, your phone's battery was over...
You got into a taxi, praying you'd reach home within the next 10-15 minutes.You watched the city lights from the fogged window as it started to drizzle. You swear you cursed yourself for neither carrying a charger nor an umbrella.
You were so captivated by the sight of the city lights fading in a hazy blur, like you were in a dream, and the moonlight lighting up the sky that you wished you could watch this moment with your fiancé while resting your head on his chest.
After what felt like an eternity you thanked and paid the taxi driver and rushed to your front door to unlock the passcode to your home. After the door opened you peeked inside the house which was already dark, sighing in relief as you closed the door quietly.
When you tip-toed your way towards the stairs you saw a tall man leaning against the wall on the top of the flight of stairs, crossing his arms as he turned on the light raising one of his eyebrows at you. You gulped knowing exactly who it was.
"And where might have you been?", You gulped feeling guilty that you couldn't inform him before hand. You reached the top of the flight of stairs and hugged him, as you Buried your head in his chest and looked up at him, "I'm sorry bun, I had a long day at work today and my phone died on me and I couldn't contact you....I just... I'm so frustrated these days I don't know what to do."
He held you closer to his chest as he patted your back and spoke, making the vibrations be felt on his chest as he comforted you,"It's alright sweetheart, I know and understand how the work pressure affects one's health and lately you've been working a lot, so please take rest tomorrow and I won't tolerate any sort of refusal, ok?".
You looked up from his chest as you saw him looking at you with a heart warming smile through his black rim glasses. You felt this sense of great comfort and happiness that in this world of zero he was your one and only. You felt for once your choices led to a good decision for yourself and for him.
He carried your bag to your room while you both held hands as you told him about your day and he smiled, listening to you. You just couldn't control your excitement and wanted to tell him everything, every minute detail from today. When you kept on talking in your bed, he was resting on one of his elbows and listening to you.
In the middle of your sentence you started yawning and that was his cue to put his index finger against your lips as he whispered,"let's keep something for tomorrow shall we?", As he squeezed his eyes shut and opened them. You laughed at his action and agreed while cursing your yawn to stop your conversation.
He put a blanket over you and kissed your forehead while getting up from your bed,but stopped on his spot as you held his hand and asked ,"Could you please be here I don't want you to leave." He covered his face with his palms at your cuteness and nodded as he slept next to you caressing your hair and holding you tight.
After four hours you woke up from your sleep shifting here and there to fall back to sleep but to no progress. You felt the grip of your fiancé's hand tighten around your waist indicating....you definitely woke him up. With a deep whisper Soobin mumbled in his sleep as he asked,"Are you awake sweetheart?Is everything alright? I'll protect you."
You giggled at his question and apologized,"Yes, yes I'm fine I'm sorry I couldn't fall asleep and you woke up because of that." You turned to the other side to face him as he slowly opened his eyes and whispered,"Then shall we wake up then?". You looked at your alarm clock still reading 3:15 am and spoke,"it's really early though...". Soobin sat up immediately and looked at you as he smiled,"there's nothing called too early to wake up now follow me."
You laughed and followed him to the kitchen as he gestured you to sit on one of the chairs placed near the table as he announced,"Welcome to late night cookin' with soobin!! Now today's mission is to bake some cookies to wake this sleeping Beauty from her sleepy state, isn't that right miss?".
You smiled at him and nodded your head as he reached his hand out to you and asked,"Will you be my special guest for today ma'am?" As he winked at you and you joined him on the other side of the counter, wearing your matching aprons.
He then told you to take the ingredients required for baking the cookies while he looked for the utensils. He then whispered close to your ear,"Have you ever made cookies?", To which you chuckled and answered,"No. I only specialize in eating them." "Then you're in for a treat for eating Soobin's Special".
He then knead the dough for the cookie while throwing some part of the flour to your hand to which you rubbed some flour on his cheek as your clumsy battle went on. He then asked you for preparing the icing to decorate the cookie in which you kept on tasting the icing whenever soobin looked away.Little did you know he also tasted the icing when you looked away.
He then adjusted the oven to place the cookies there as he adjusted the timer to 15 minutes. He pulled out his phone as he played songs from your playlist and leaned down extending a hand towards you as he asked,"May I have this dance" to which you nodded and danced with him while giggling and maintaining a long eye contact with him. You both were leaning in close to connect your lips- *BEEP*
You both looked at the timer you set for the cookies to be ready and laughed at each other as you put on your oven mitts and removed the cookies from the oven. You let it cool down for 8 minutes before decorating them. As much as the cookies were not decorated you both decorated each other's faces with the icing rather than the cookies.
You both sat on the cold floor next to each other as you tasted the cookies as soobin spoke,"So....how did you like Soobin's Special?", With his eyes lighting up like a puppy you answered,"They're good but they lack something..." , you teased him. He leaned closer to you as your lips connect his and as he smirked,"What about now?". "It's perfect " is all you could say and hide your face in your palms as he laughed and hugged you tighter.
