It was a cold morning towards the end of December, the time the air feels frosty and is filled with aromas of baked cookies, making everyone feel they're at home.
It was a frosty winter morning, but there you were, driving your car and holding hands with yeonjun as he was sipping his americano and looking half sleepy with his grey hoodie.
You on the other hand were driving yet stealing glances at your comfy boyfriend who looked too cute to be easily distracted .So you both reached the railway station and you, parked your car and woke yeonjun up carefully as he let out a yawn like a sleepy cat and looked at you and said , "How come y/n-ie is always in my dreams aww.."
To which you ,who were blushing, playfully smacked his arm and said, "Junnie wake up your train is gonna leave you otherwise..." And that's when he jolted up and said , "oh we reached?!?!" And got out of the car.
Now you both were sitting on the wooden bench on the railway station where it was lightly snowing as you waited with yeonjun for his train to arrive.
"Are you sure you'll be ok in your dorm alone? It's the holidays and your birthday is near..... Let's just go back home I don't want to to go to meet my friend anyways." Yeonjun pouted to which you patted his head and said "Junnie I'll be fine just meet your friends, you haven't seen each other in years!! If you don't see them now when will you see them next huh??". Yeonjun wanted to argue but he knew you were right...
Yeonjun's train arrived , so you both stopped listening to the song being played on the earphones you both were sharing.You both hugged each other and then he left for his train.
Honestly you didn't want to want him to go as well, you wanted to spend your birthday with him as it fell a day after Christmas but you knew what would be more important for him now and that was to meet his friends he talked so dearly of every time.
2 days later it was Christmas and as soon as it was midnight you texted your boyfriend first!! and then wished everyone in your contacts; You got a tub of vanilla ice cream from your fridge and ate two scoops of it and went back to studying as you had exams from the second week of January.
It was sad but you knew you had nothing better to do either on Christmas or your birthday and if you started watching movies you'd feel unproductive so you thought why not study?
Then after 2 hours you went to bed and woke up at 10 am and checked your phone to see everyone wishing you a merry Christmas back except one contact that you really wanted to hear it from.
That really killed your mood in the morning ...so you did your morning chores, ate lunch and towards evening you thought to take a walk outside to clear your head.
It was snowing outside, with many Christmas trees lit up and many people with their jackets having a good time with their loved ones.
You suddenly missed yeonjun, You wanted to hold hands with him under this snow and share hot cocoa with him too,but you knew he was enjoying now so it was fine.
Wanting to distract yourself, you bought dinner for yourself and went back to your dorm to study again but you were stretching till late night to the point you dozed off in your study table.In your dreams you could hear a faint knock...
The faint knock became clearer slowly as you were opening your eyes.
You opened your eyes clearly to see it was 5 am , realizing you had dozed off.
So you drank some water and then suddenly- You could hear the knock from your dreams you walked up to your door and opened it hesitantly to check who it was.
There was no one out there as you were about to close the door a hand stopped it. You were shocked and started screaming "WHO IS IT?? WHAT ARE YOU DOING AT 5 AM?!?!".
The person let out his laugh,the laugh y/n felt a bit too familiar.....and so that person opened the door making y/n gasp.
"Did someone order uhm....uh.. A Yeonjun?" Yeonjun smirked as he spread his arms open. Y/n cried happily and just jumped to hug yeonjun. Then she asked,"wait weren't you going to come on 30th December??What happened??"
Yeonjun replied,"Well yes....but I thought about it I did enjoy meeting my friends it was fun but I couldn't stop thinking about you...and I just knew I had to be there for your birthday and make you happy and put that choco cake's cream on your face as we giggle..so uhm Surprise!!!!(?)".
Y/n was too happy and hugged yeonjun even tighter and asked "But....How did you know I'll have a chocolate cake on my birthday cause I didn't even order a cake yet...".
Yeonjun smirked and said "I knew it.. that's why I got it for you hehe." And pulled out the cake he was hiding and said "so a sweet surprise for my sweet girlfriend~ ehe ( ◜‿◝ )♡"
And so they both go in y/n's dorm room to celebrate her birthday and Yeonjun successfully paints y/n's face with with the chocolate cream from the cake and takes many photos of her...For memories to keep by forever of this surprise.
