The future.
It changes.

Today was every aviator's favorite day.

It was an off day.

No flying.

No notes.

No punishments.

Just relaxing.

Lucia and Mickey were preparing to watch a movie at the beach house.

Well, Mickey was, Lucia was most likely going to fall asleep like she usually did.

Mickey was in the kitchen, putting a bag of popcorn in the microwave.

He was quiet while Lucia sat on the couch, scrolling through social media.

He looks over at her and smiles slightly.

Mickey never thought he would love someone after Hazel, but he was glad that he finally could.

And out of everyone, he was happy it was Lucia.

Mickey was very content with what he and Lucia had, and he knew that eventually, she would want to get married.

But there was something he felt like they hadn't touched on.

"Amor?" Mickey asks from the kitchen.

"Hmm?" she hums, keeping her eyes glued to her phone screen.

Mickey hesitates before he responds.

He pours the popcorn into the bowl.

"Mickey?" Lucia asks.

He looks over to see her looking at him from over the couch.

Mickey walks over to her, handing her the popcorn bowl.

"Do you want to have kids?" he finally asks.

Lucia purses her lips as Mickey sits down next to her.

"I don't know," she answers.

Mickey nods his head slowly as he reaches for the popcorn bowl.

Lucia had never thought about being a mother.

She never pictured herself having kids.

For as long as she and her family could remember, she wanted to be a successful fighter pilot.

Of course, she had never thought about getting married.

But that changed when she began to date Mickey.

The only things that consumed her mind were becoming the next Iceman and getting married to the love of her life.

She wasn't opposed to having kids, but it didn't fit into her future.

"Do you want kids?" Lucia asks Mickey.

Mickey shrugs his shoulders as he stands.

"Eventually,"

Lucia watches as he grabs two glasses and opens the fridge.

"I want my bloodline to continue. I'd like to care for something,"

Lucia smiles.

"You care for me," she teases.

"I mean a child,"

Lucia sighs and twists her lips as Mickey walks back to the couch.

He hands her a glass of tea.

"We can talk about this some other time," Mickey says smiling before leaning over and kissing Lucia on the side of her head.
