These feelings were nothing knew and because of them, her grandmother called her special, her mother called her gifted but often she wondered what she was. She knew for a fact that her birth was mysterious since her parents had never actually remembered her being born after the accident. The grandmother claimed that they parents had both gotten amnesia after they had woken up in hospital and with a child they had not known. There were no pictures of her mother pregnant nor of her as a tiny new born, a fact that she chocked to maybe bad memories and recovery period since no matter how many times she tried to squeeze out of her grandmother, she would always just end up with a sad and sobbing woman on squeezing the life out of her and no answers.
"Well, the queen of trouble, I see nothing has really changed since I was away."
"David!" She exclaimed seeing her friend. He had been away for the national games a few months before. "I missed you."
"I also did but it seems I didn't have to." he said as he lifted her in an embrace.
"What are you talking about?"
"Everyone loves you and you could choose among them." He pouted as always pretending to be angry at her.
"Nonsense, I could not replace a best friend and especially you. I would rather not have anyone baby me, the rest are fans, that is different. So, tell me what is new." She squickly tried to shift the conversation as she knew he would go on a rant about how much she didn't love him anymore.
As much as it looked like a joke, she knew deep down it came from the insecurity that David had been abandoned by his parents and by the time they came back for him, it was only because of an inheritance that forced them to keep him. They sat for a long time catching up. Apparently, there were no classes since the teachers were having a meeting about some upcoming education programs that the ministry was going to introduce in a few weeks, it had become the rage of all educators after the bill had passed. She wasn't one to follow the news but she knew it changed a little bit of the teachers' responsibilities in class so there had been an uproar about it. Everyone in school knew of their friendship and once in a while it brought problems with the girls he fell in love with.
She and David had become friends the very first day they met in an athletic event when David was in a different school then. Some said he had fallen in love with her on sight and that was why he had lost the race but Tiggy didn't like that version of the story because she knew she could not see him differently no matter what. Though her parents had divorced, she still believed in love and she had one conviction, that she would know him the very day she would see him. David was not him and she couldn't imagine hurting him if he told her he loved her so she chose to ignore those rumors.
Her conviction was strong because her grandmother was the person who encouraged her to wait for her soul mate. Her grandmother had been in love with her grandfather and even after his death there was still the glow whenever they talked about him. She wanted that, the memories to be a constant reminder of how lucky you were, even if your love was gone or it didn't work out. She wanted to have the glitter in her eyes if his name was mentioned even if it could change to anger. She did not care if heartbreaks will be there or not, they were still part of what made life important and she really wanted that experience.
